Torque limiter is occuring between 4500 and 5700 rpm, and postshift.
I'll try few more thing in the DME flash tomorrow.

What issues are they? Very occasionally, mine fails to upshift in S mode with the Alpina flash. Is this what you're referring to?

Hmm, what do you mean by fail? You pull the paddle and it ignores it?

I wasn't talking about such an issue, I meant a flaw where the needle drops to idle rpm for 1 sec when upshifting very early.

In S mode it should shift automatically. Probably once every 4 months or so, it would just hold and not shift. I just back off a little and floor it again and it shifts. No codes or shadow codes in the TCU. I must admit, I haven't tried upshifting with the paddle.

Oh that's weird. I would have thought the TCU has no control over what the DME reports to the dash.

Okay. so i've done today some more tests relating to opened tcc on Stage 2.
It accurs only when starting in D1 with some more throttle.

Also i made some logs to see if the limiter is activated at any time.
It wasn't.
I made some serious Autobahn action and my ignition was always stable. Limiter always 0.
Even in 5th and 6th gear on full boost.
N54 FBO Stock turbos.

Rayban, maybe i should do some testo logs. But first i need to know how to install etc.
In meantime you can send me the parameters you want to have a look at.

Intresting. Could you send ma log, where I can see the exact data? Helps on my side.

What I have experienced with "Torque limiter 4" (TCU-induced torque limiter) with the Alpina calibration is that it varies at different RPM. See my log below. The limit happens at 630nm at 3000rpm but the limit is gone at 6300rpm at 665nm. trebila mentioned that this limit appears unchanged so I think think there is another torque limit to find.

I'm very happy to help track down the torque limit. The 6 cell 8-bit tables with RPM as their axis between 6009E and 60217 look interesting and half of them differ between stock and Alpina. Another one is the 4-cell table 5FE06-5FE09 with the axis 5FE02-5FE05. I'd love to volunteer to help out, if given the resources to do so.

Is the Alpina B3 torque limit per gear table set to about 620nm in gears 2-4 (I don't get that high in 1st and haven't tested 5th and 6th)? If not, then that definitely confirms that the torque limit table that's being reached in the Alpina B3 flash is not the torque limit per gear table.

In stage 2 D-mode:
Downhill 2nd-3rd upshift shiftpoint and downhill 3rd-2nd downshift shiftpoint are too close at zero throttle/light throttle.
It's just keeping upshifting/downshifting between 2nd and 3rd.

I think there is not just a single torque limiter in the tcu flash.
I've tried to raise the calculated torque in the DME flash, and I still get the same torque limiter which kills timing targets between 3000-3500 and 5500-6000 rpm, same behaviour than Brad 's torque limiter 4 midrange.

Again, same DME flash (IJE0S) in a DCT, and absolutely no torque limiter, reported torque is much higher, stuck at 570ft.lbs.

So interesting that we're having different experiences here. @Kaliber335i has no Torque Limiter active at 21 psi. What flash are you running right now? TQ values rescaled or stock like stated in the Manual?

@all: I'd like you to do a full run through at least 2 gears and log your TCU with Testo. Download it from here: http://phenoboy.kapsi.fi/testo

The tool is straightforward: After start type "GS19" in the search bar in the left window. In the right window you will see a Job "STATUS Eingaenge AEGS". Doubleclick this one (once connected to car with Laptop) and tick the following boxes:

STAT_ISTANG_WERT
STAT_MOTORDREHZAHL_WERT
STAT_TURBINENDREHZAHL_WERT
STAT_WK_WERT
STAT_GETRIEBETEMPERATUR_WERT
STAT_MOTORISTMOMEN_WERT
STAT_MOTORSOLLMOMENT_WERT
STAT_RADGESCHWINDIGKEIT_WERT
STAT_FAHRPEDALWINKEL_WERT
STAT_ABTRIEBSDREHZAHL_WERT

Then hit F1 to bring up the log window. Click "Start" and do your drive. PLZ send me the logs through mail.

From the feedback here in this thread and through E-Mail we will come up with the following improvements ASAP:

- Rewrite Recoding Function to take care of some problem w/ loosing the paddles after flashing
- Change CleanUp Process, as some cars refuse to clear all codes before the IGN was cycled.
- Slightly change upshift/downshift points on low loads in 2nd/3rd gear (Stage 2/3)
- Change downshift points in 5/6th gear (Stage 1)
- Bring up a function to disable the safety checks (Ignition, Headlights, AC etc.) before flash.

That are the things that are identified and will be cleared shortly. Next step is to work with @Kaliber335i on the TCC issue (Does anybode else have that? I'm unable to reproduce it) and check the TQ limiting issues on some car.

correction: it looks like TC unlock and lock each time I release the pedal, rpm drop, i feel the transmission is free, then TC is locked again, inducing jerkiness.
Still D-mode stage 2.
Here is the issue, pedal completely released:

You should pass this logging info along to @Martial@MHD. It would be VERY nice for people to be able to log DME and TCU through the same interface :)

Okay, now i'm having the same issue as trebila with the torque limiter accuring between 4 and 5k.
And my tcc problem is back, but this time i need to give some more pedal (aprx. 40% pedal on stock settings)

@trebila: Can you please test, if you have the same behaviour? Would be grateful.
You are one of the rare guys here who are actually testing.
D-Mode Stage 2/3. From 0 mph/kmh with some more throttle.

Already sent.
I have the same issue with stock ecu software. Would like to know if i'm the only one with this problem.
Rayban is already analyzing. Tomorrow ill do new logs with an additional parameter.

The behaviour was better after the first update. Maybe the values need to be changed more. Idk. But it doesnt seem to be a problem with my ecu sw. Everything else works like it should. Its just like the open tcc in alpina tcu sw but at more rpm.

I just reuploaded all 3 setups: Stage 1,2,3

To get the new files head to the Misc. Menu and click "Re-Download OTS Maps"

Stage 1:
- Changed downshift points in D mode to hold 5th/6th gear longer
- Slighty raised upshifts on low throttle

Stage 2:
- Changed 2/3 upshift/downshift points (there was a small glitch in certain loads)
- Changed tq. managment and shift timings on low loads D mode
- Cleared a few issues in warmup phase (if someone of the beta group has still winter temps....please speak..need to log that temps)

Stage 3:
- Changed 2/3 upshift/downshift points (there was a small glitch in certain loads)
- Changed tq. managment and shift timings on low loads D mode
- Cleared a few issues in warmup phase (if someone of the beta group has still winter temps....please speak..need to log that temps)

For Stage 3 there are now 2 totally new features:

- Drag Race Mode in S. In S mode the transmission will now leave the TCC totally open in Gears 1,2,3 to help traction in high HP cars.

- Early - downshift on braking: In D mode the trans will now initiate early downshifts when 1 of these 2 things happen: Getting on the brake quickly or applying slightly more pedal pressure, then you would on a normal stop. This kind of imitates the downshifts a driver would initiate with a normal stick shift. Additionally, when you're going faster on a country road, the trans will hold the lower gear through the corner, to make the exit feel more "natural". This feature is clearly in beta phase now..it's not perfect. So feel free to comment on it.

In the next hours we will also upload the next App version, to address the "lost-coding" issue and the disable safety check feature. Once it's online, I will post here again. Those guys, who have lost their coding, please make sure to Re-Code with NCS before flashing with the App again! Otherwise a false coding will be stored.
