The manual version is 3.85 which is way to short for our cars.

The m3 has very different gearbox ratio's and a rev range that most n54's
will never see unless your starting of in second gear all the time.

The DCT is 3.17 and is perfect for most applications.

Anything different is custom on the E9x platform.

Best place I found to get them is out of uk, they have plenty.

I was looking to drag this in a 1/8 mile on 275 /50R15 hoosiers. Trying to lower my 60' time. will the 3.17 be better then 3.85 for this?

If your going to drag race the 3.85 is fine but you will need a new vac diff hat as factory
hat is just glass as most drag races have found out especially on slicks.

The diff will end up on the ground and cause thousands worth of damage to your car.

thanks for your input! after a bit more research, I'm leaning more towards the 3.17.

A good diff brace also helps.

Brace is just a band aid, best is to solid diff mount it and do the cover and you will never have to worry about it.

Don't think anyone makes a brace for the m3 rear end anymore.
