Which Single Turbo?

Decided I want to go the single turbo route, due to reliability and ease of access to the turbo. My goals are at most 600whp and quick spooling. Will be running 94 octane and meth. I was thinking a PT5862 but anyone else have any recommendations?

I run the PTE 5862 Gen 1 and it spools very quickly and has no problem making 600whp. I beleive they either just came out with, or are coming out wiht a Gen 2 5862. Personally I love the set up.

I like my 6266. Spool is pretty decent and you'll have room to grow up to around 750 ish hp if you want.

The gen 2 6466 spool pretty decently from what I have seen.

I had a PTE-6266 on a previous build. After riding in an E36 with a 2JZ swap before and after going from a 6266 to an EFR8347, I'm considering going to an EFR7160 or 8347. The EFR was faster to spool.

He is not wanting big power. Anyone recommending a 62mm turbo will probably cause someone with this mindset to be disappointed. I have a 6266 and if you only wanted 600, I'd say do something smaller, like the 5862 gen2 if its out. Or maybe a smaller EFR.

Maybe a 5862 with the T4 divided if the Gen 2 isn't available yet, and he could always up to a 6062 or 6266 if he wanted a little more. I've seen Evo X info with an EFR 7670 and spool time is about 700 rpm above stock turbo, so you'd think on an N54 it would be lower rpm. I think the smallest an EFR comes with a T4 flange is the 7163 or maybe it was a 7064, but might be close to or over max efficiency in the 550-600hp range.

Yeah you can run a efr 7670 or the s257 sxe which has the same compressor wheel as the 7670 but it's Journal bearing with an inconel turbine wheel instead of the Gamma Ti. It's also $1,000 cheaper

Are there any other companies that are going to a similar material? Like their own branded versions of it?

As far as what available to the aftermarket only Borg Warner is producing them for aftermarket use however companies like MHI are using them for OEM application such as the Cadillac ATS-V twin turbo V6
