The charge pipe tmap has a higher pressure reading capability but not enough resolution under vacuum which is why BMW did the 2-sensor setup.

The resolution is 0, because you can't measure engine vacuum upstream a throttle blade. That is why you see a lot of JB4 gauges show 0 or 1 psi at idle. For whatever reason their gauge choice doesn't combine the data into one gauge like MHD does.

I ordered a Vader Solutions BOV adapter. Tracking number generated almost immediately but not shipped in the last 10 days ... is this common? Seems like a simple part ... and "on sale" ... would imagine it is in stock ...

Same here. Took 2 weeks and an email to get him to ship it. No reply to my email. Pretty disappointed in the service response.

I'm getting my GC lites installed this week, maybe next. On their BOV instructions they require 1/4 to 1/4 fitting.

Will this fit?

https://www.amazon.com/Parker-Stain...1533080828&sr=1-3&keywords=Parker+4-4+B2HF-SS

This will not fit. You need an 1/8 NPT to 1/4 NPT. So what that means is the threaded size that you screw into the Vader BOV adaptor is 1/8 and the barbed fitting that you put the BOV connecting hose to is 1/4 which you will connect to via a 1/4 hose.

If none of this makes sense, just go to Ace Hardware, take the BOV adaptor and find a fitting that threads in and has 1/4 NPT barb too (use a hose to double check if you’d like.)

Btw got my adaptor installed yesterday. Works brilliantly and took less than 10 minutes. Much crisper BOV response and transient response. Highly recommended.
Thanks for the quick reply. Are you upgraded turbos? I'm a tad concerned since the VTT boy pdf called out the 1/4 to 1/4. Would the 1/8 make that much of a difference or is it acceptable since the line is bigger?

I was speaking with my shop about possibly drilling out the block to fit the 1/4 to 1/4. Any thoughts?

Try it with the 1/8 and if you feel it’s not performing adequately, uninstall, drill out, put a 1/4 fitting and retry. I’d imagine Omar would’ve drilled it out to 1/4 if it mattered.

I am FBO + inlets on an E50 custom tune from V8bait on stock turbos.

Has anybody tried to drill open a pair of Forge Diverter Valves and install 1/8" hose fittiings connected to a Y then going to Omar's Adapter using 1/4" hose? I'm thinking of doing this. :)

How do you like the DV's? I used to run a DV on my Evo and loved it.

Buying a fitting and drilling it out seems counterproductive.

Might as well just tap the Intake I think.

Let me say this differently, as I was initially confused as well:

One number relates to the thread, the other to the barb size. The ID of the hole going through is the same. In the case of VTT, they provided instructions to drill and install the fitting in the plastic intake manifold. They could have chosen either the 1/8 NPT thread or the 1/4 NPT thread. The chose the more coarse thread, which is typical when threading metal into plastic.

In the case of the aluminum Vader BOV adapter, the hole is tapped for 1/8" NPT, not 1/4" NPT ... which is appropriate for a metal on metal threading. Metal on plastic, as VTT instructions provide, a coarser thread is typical.

Both 1/8NPT x 1/4 barb and 1/4NPT x 1/4 barb get you the same ID vacuum. So as Omar said above, this one is correct: Parker 4-2 B2HF-SS 316 Stainless Steel Barb Connector To Male Pipe 1/4" Hose Barb X 1/8" Male NPT
