I've just realised that my RB outlets currently connect to my VTT GC turbos with the barbed connection but the replacement China 19Ts use the 55mm v-band connection like stock turbos.

Is it possible to get a v-band to barbed flange adaptor to make these inlets work with the new turbos?

I assume I'm looking for something like this in the right size

RB made adapters for the outlets. Not sure if they are still available, but worth shooting them an email.

Just a heads up when looking at the MMP adapters. I believe the OD in them are 2" to match the MMP outlets. I believe RB may have used 1.75" ID on his outlets. I would measure to be sure.

I have those MMP outlet parts sitting around if anyone wants them I am pretty sure. The tapered adapter ones for his outlets which burst and melt on the reg.

Did you guys who melted the outlets have heat shields?

I've had RB outlets on my car since 2017. However I do have right hand drive outlets which take a detour away from the block around the steering column.

Guess your turbos just got hotter than mine

Yeah, it came with 'heat shield' and even with that and some DEI heat blocking the outlets STILL melted. I had mine as far away from the exhaust as possible and it still blew a hole.

It's a big bummer cause the kit as a whole looked very well built and had plenty of engineering behind it. The outlet material itself was to blame. :(

When did it happen?

I got the original RB RHD outlets in late 2016 I think it was. A few people I've spoken to suggest that quality dropped off in later years.

My MMP Outlets blew July 2017. MMP, not RB. My RB products have been solid; I run inlets, PCV, etc (soon to be Turbos).

The cool connectors we have talked about from MMP:

Does anyone know which vband clamps I need for the stock turbo vband conections?

This ok?

No they don't are a true TD04.
Turbine wheel is too small for a TD04

There is a vendor that is selling a TD04 CHRA now, but still using the stock size compressor housing which is wierd.

I'm over here wondering why you're going from GCs to China 19Ts. GCs blow? In any case, I would try to find a true td04-19T compressor housing to swap for the China 19ts and then you dont need to worry about stock style connections.
