Did you ever figute this out?
Are you seeing any torque limits showing up in your logs that accompany this? How about your load target, is that lower until you get out of spool mode as well? I'm curious if it's targeting less, or just leaving a bigger gap between target and actual.
I forgot all about this post. I kind of forgot about it as the weather in the PNW has been wet (wetter than last Winter anyway) so I haven't really messed with it any further. I need to play around with this some more.
Are you seeing any torque limits showing up in your logs that accompany this? No limits, timing pulls, throttle closures, nothing in the logs that should cause torque to be limited. The one thing I do notice in the logs is that the exhaust vanos is ~0 (so 115*) until ~2500 rpm then a big in retard which could be causing the increase in torque. I haven't tried retarding the exhaust cam in the spool table yet to see if that makes a difference, but will when there's enough dry pavement to test it.
How about your load target, is that lower until you get out of spool mode as well? Load targets are fine, smooth, nothing with a big increase ~3k rpm.
I'm curious if it's targeting less, or just leaving a bigger gap between target and actual.
I did find a log with the "spool mode max rpm" set to 0 to see if it's a spool version of a table and had the same increase in torque ~3k, and same exhaust cam timing.
