Can one of you kind 3er or 1er guys give me an accurate measurement of your strut tower width? From center to center of the strut tower access hole (you can measure inside edge to inside edge of the access holes, and give me the access whole width, if that's easier).

Turns on the E89 Z4 run the E90 front end, but a totally unique strut bolt orientation that screwed with my installing the Vorshlag plates. We redrilled to E90 bolt orientation, but that now screws with my strut brace. I'm wondering if I can pillage a whole aftermarket strut brace on the E90 (if the tower widths are the same). If not we'll fab.

Thanks!

Filippo

I don't have a clean shot from center to center, but the front most bolt to front most bolt is ~43" center to center.

Go baller status and do a custom strut tower bar and use the hollow bar as your vacuum canister so you can eliminate that part from the engine bay.

Yep I'm also in for info on how you like those coilovers. That's on my short list. Just wish it went a little lower than what, 15mm?

I'll have some feedback soon. I had some KW V3s sitting around for installation, but sold them to go with the Ohlins R&T.

Barry Battle @ 3DMMotorsport is working the suspension. Barry is doing a lot of BMW specific work directly with Ohlins USA (I believe he's developing an E36 solution, for example). He's ex-Bimmerworld co-founder, ex-RRT co-founder and really a suspension guy at heart (cut his teeth in Grand Am I think) ... so he's really the guy to ask about Ohlins. He's working other Ohlins cars. I know he's got a 1M that they're running at One Lap and he just turned a 2 minute flat run at VIR with it on Ohlins (and its a street car, since it runs One Lap.) Anyway, you can email Barry Battle at [email protected] if you have specific Ohlins questions.

I am posting on a build thread, thanks to Tyler opening up a Z sub-forum at Spoolstreet. It's https://bmw.spoolstreet.com/threads/e89-z4-atacama-yellow-build.3022/ for anyone interested.
