I bested 165.5mph with the 135i on mid boost with no traction.
Vargas did 173.6mph on his second run at mid boost.

I'm confused why you guys dont have the sheet metal manifold from BMS site on a BMS car. LoL. I bet it goes on there now. LoL

We barely got the car back a week ago from VTT after the new setup, not enough time lol. I'm working on that right now actually doing the swap haha.

Yes that was the plan but other things came up so we rolled the dice. It had been fine at other events. Never racing a high HP manual trans vehicle with the plastic manifold again though. I was just looking at the log when it blew up, PI cut off right when I pressed the clutch as designed. So not sure what triggers this. Has to be fuel vapor pooling in the manifold somehow and a spark kicking back up.

Did it make an alarming pop that you could hear? Or was it just a mystery problem until you opened the hood?

You probably should have just left our prototype manifold we gave to you way back in the day on the car. This would not have happened!

Yes, had to redo the fuel system for a return line which was why changed it up in the first place. Hoping the alum intakes don't explode too, could get dangerous, lol.

Sounded like a bomb went off. I presumed I money shifted it and was looking in the rear view for oil, parts of the engine bouncing around, etc. But when I didn't see anything coasted back around, popped the dented hood, and saw the manifold split in half.

They shouldn't We pressure test to way over what anyone would most likely experience! I would bet the backfire would blow right through the throttle body!

I wonder what would have been damaged had the manifold been metal and not exploded

interesting... maybe throttle body? BOV? Intercooler?

Is it possible for a backfire with the throttle open?

Hopefully it would have just blown the charge pipe off but it got me thinking all that energy would have to go somewhere

Might bend throttle blade if it was closed. Almost makes me want to machine a big hole and press in a freeze plug to release the pressure if it happens again.
