Super happy with the results of my RB stage 2 turbos! Installed on my 08 135i. Installation was a breeze and no fitment issues. Ran this car for the 1st time in a 1/4 mile last weekend and was real happy with my time. Launched in 2nd gear at 2k rpm. Which is what i call a soft launch. With a better launch and fueling I know the car has more in it. 10's here i come

Excellent work! Tell us more about your setup. What PSI? What fuel are you running? LPFP upgrade? What tires are you using?

What rims do you have the tires on and did you need to do any fender work?

Tires are currently on my 235i wheels. No fender work at all. I normally run apex arc8 wheels 18x9.5 with 275/35 and no fitment issues as well.

Great results!

These are actually one of our Beta RB Twos setups, 6 sets were produced starting 10/2017 and we are giving some more soak time with an expected 0% failure rate before going into full production. The good news is that with these results (@22psi) they seem have a bit more room and 10’s definitely are possible, not bad for a sub $2k turbo setup.

Thanks for sharing,
Rob

Do you need to upgrade fueling with these?
Of is it a simple plug and play with the normal FBO mods
Just seeing if I need to upgrade my LPFP
If you want to make more than ~400whp you'll need fueling upgrades no matter what. Stock turbos, upgraded turbos, single turbo, anything.

HP is made by air and fuel. Our stock pumps don't deliver enough fuel to even Max out the stock turbos (obviously the "air" part of the equation)

If you call a 1.7 60 a soft launch I am curious how many pieces your drivetrain will be in on a hard one lol. That's an awesome time for hybrids usually launch suffers on upgraded turbos

Great numbers. Imagine a 10 second slip for under 2k of turbos. Can't beat the bang for the buck.

Is boost tapering on the big end? Awesome et for sure and 1/8 mile trap is knocking on 100. I wouldve expected 128+ trap in the 1/4 unless boost is dropping.

It is pretty good stuff indeed and considering the boost at 22psi it just won't take too much more to get to 10's. The Trap is a bit down touching at 126mph, but most of these setups turning the 130+mph range traps are running at least 25psi (some well above 30psi) too. In these scenarios efficiency is going WAYYY down and asking for things to blow, whether engine or turbos (or both); but you definitely can get better performance to wow the masses as well when doing as such too.

Also just to follow up our last post we have still seen absolute perfection in this beta program (to date) and are now 1 month away from a full year since beta sets began shipping. Being in this business as long as we have we feel we'd begin to see issues within 6 months (as a manufacturer) if there was some manufacturer defect, so nearly doubling this timeframe is quite telling that the product is a solid one.

All said we feel is it an easy decision to move them into production and we have a 15 set batch of housings already machined (several sold already). In short these will begin shipping over the next weeks with hopefully more great results in performance and quality to follow, definitely a great bargain high quality Stage 2 setup which have been dub'd the RB Twos.

Thanks,
Rob

Lol this thread was created months ago and this guy posted a review about it, yet no photos of his car, mods or proof other than a time slip that could have been found on the ground at the track. Now I might now have thought this way of it wasnt for him never posting again. I smell fish.

He is a real guy who has emailed us periodically, he actually bought his beta set from another who never installed them. Either that or he just likes to spam us with fake beta purchase questions and subsequent results as he is extremely bored lol.

FWIW here is the last email we received on 8/11 from him:
"Hey Rob,
Its been awhile but wanted to update you on some numbers. Put the ole girl on the dyno (dynojet) today. 90* in shop with fans, 50% wgdc, and she made 537whp/523ftlb. I have to say AGAIN i am extremely happy with these turbos!"

Yes there are many of the new RB Twos batch available still, we literally just got done machining them all last week. We are in no hurry to sell as we have quite the work backlog already, as such this batch should be around for at least a couple/few months.

This slip was from a run at one the the biggest N54 meets of the year. I was there for the run and I am good friends with the owner. He does not frequent the forums much. The car has made tons of passes at the local 1/8 track and hasn't missed a beat.
