anyone running the PTB dual mass flywheel? Seen a few German cars randomly that have them, but they are vague on details. Curious if they have any sound like the single mass, or totally silent like the oem. Also drivability.

They are still being tested on a handful of cars. The likely end result in terms performance characteristics both negative and positive I expect to fall somewhere in between the oem dmfw and a lightweight smfw conversion.

I'll buy one when they have the final product well tested.

There have been some random tests posted but they are vague. Some reported rattle and one was having a misfire issue. They were working on revisions was the last report so we continue to wait.

First I've seen of such a complicated flywheel. Not sure I'd want to introduce such a complicated mess of moving parts on a high HP build when a SMFW or M4 FW works just fine.

But the m4 is only available in 6 bolt... is there an 8 bolt version available? My understanding was the only OEM upgrade was the 550i dmfw.

I had the PTB DMFW and their clutch.
Sadly the DMFW didnt work (misfires and noises during deaccleration)... After switchting to an custom Twin Disc with organic clutch discs and SMFW no more misfires.

The DMFW was broken (bend on the outside)....PTB really has a good customer Service, but their DMFW isn´t working like its supposed to at the Moment.
