I see so many cars converted to msport or m3 side skirts and am curious if most buy pre painted by vin number or have body shop do my shop said very expensive to do side skirts due to blending being necessary I am just curious to other opinions?

My experience with panels, I bought aftermarket m5 front and skirts, called 1/2 dozen shops to paint it. All of them declined because it wasn't oem, figure it was a cash deal and it wouldn't be an issue. The 7th one ended up doing it for me....in black!, my car is silver gray. The correct color was spot on, but the body lines weren't perfect. Hope you venture is a better one!

I never buy a pre-painted body part. You should always have a local shop you trust more than having it painted by someone across the country, then having that part flexing back and forth stressing the paint during shipment.

When I bought my car the front bumper was damaged. I took a leap of faith and bought a prepainted one Ebay. It looks great. It doesnt have a different shade to it all at. Now, I could have just got lucky and picked a good store (they did have thousands of positive feedback). Also, my car is black, so maybe its easier for it to match (im not sure). I could also see what doublespaces is saying about the shipment. My suggestion, if you want to buy prepainted, is to find a store with a ton of feedback and go through and read the actual comments and see what people thought. Just my .02

You can tell the shop to not blend into the panels and as long as you're willing to accept that their may be a slight mismatch they don't care. Money is money.

Do you think if a shop is skilled enough that they can mix to match the paint perfect or is bending only way cause if I have spend 2g in think I may just get the car wrapped frozen blue as currently is le mans blue
