Popped the block at the track today. 133 laps in, looks like cylinder 2 blew.
Had the RB done earlier this year with the coated VAC bearings. Proper clearances.Original bearings or have you set it up with larger clearances?
Either rebuilt n54 or ls swap. Haven’t decided. Just got home.Yeah jokes aside what have you decided? Seems like this typically boils down to install replacement stock block, build engine, part out or fix and flip
132 laps Friday from 9-3:30, breaks for lunch and gas. 93 pump, pure S2, custom tune ~18lbs, liquimoly, water maxed at 103C, oil temp gauge at 260 at the hottest, have an accumulator but didn’t install it yet. Ambient topped out at 85, about 92 on track. My dad was the only car that could pass me in his ZR1.133 laps equates to how long in minutes? sounds like a pretty serious amount of continuous track work!? or 133 laps accumulated on this engine?
what fuel, how much boost, type of engine oil, water and oil temps, and did you log engine oil pressure and/or run an accusump?
Please LS swap! Would love to see more creative builds like that on this platform.Either rebuilt n54 or ls swap. Haven’t decided. Just got home.

Long right hand sweepers are oil supply/pressure killers, no? I wonder if the pan had a baffle installed?Seems to have really went downhill at 15 secs on your lap timer.
Yup. I even bought an accumulator but hadn’t installed it yetLong right hand sweepers are oil supply/pressure killers, no? I wonder if the pan had a baffle installed?
Damn. Well, I’m certainly interested to see an LS, or LT, swap. I vote LT4.Yup. I even bought an accumulator but hadn’t installed it yet
Sorry about that, David.Yup. I even bought an accumulator but hadn’t installed it yet
