so how is everyone handling the crank case pressure ?

Ive seen a few people run rb with a additional OCC for high and low pressure sides...

whats the benefit to running the RB external kit vs buying the ADE(or other) fittings for a fraction of the price

I have two mishimoto OCC sitting around and I'm trying to figure out the best route to go

picture is just for fun

What is the ideal setup for a single turbo car?

thats what im trying to find out and from what ive read everyone likes the rb external pvc kit...my ideal setup would include a billet valve cover  + billet intake mani

I just don't want to run 2 catch cans. Is there a way to get all this done and run a single 3 port catch can??

Just picked up the RB on BMS... hoping to have it installed with my BMS catch. Anyone know any install videos running around for my specific setup?

The flapper valve is there for a reason, and its not emissions. So deleting it, or VTA, IMO and another highly respected engineer on this platform, is a bad call. The best setup is a high side catch can in between the ST and flapper valve. And then tapping the ports with a low side catch can. Were not talking 7psi and 300hp anymore folks, this sh@t starts to matter to be done right at our high power outputs.

Following for the knowledge and had no intention of contributing- still, just had to pop in and offer a heartfelt "Thanks!" to whomever corrected the thread title :)

You are correct, the flapper is there for a reason. Under low load the flapper is closed and the PCV valve is operating and pulling air out of the crankcase at a metered flow. The flapper has a small orifice that allows air in so that there is never a complete seal and the crankcase cannot be pulled down to the same vacuum as in the intake manifold.

Under high load (boost) there is no vacuum to keep the flapper closed, so it pops open and allows a ~3/4" passageway for gasses to escape without building excessive back-pressure in the crankcase. You need the ability to flow a significant amount of air to keep pressure from building up in the crankcase, that is the reason that a BMS can is the choice. It had large fittings and can flow a large amount of air without restricting the flow. It is not perfect, but it flows better than any other that I am aware of.

If you want to vta, you can leave flapper there, run a heater hose off the end of it, route it wherever you want and put a crankcase breather filter on the end of the hose, I have mine routed to wheel well

I wonder how beneficial the PCV system is in reducing oil leaks? How many folks have removed the PCV system entirely, and gone full VTA, long term and what have the results been? I know that I had to fix several oil leaks (Oil filter housing and valve cover gasket) long before 50k miles. Thankfully the dealer did the VCG under warranty but I paid my mechanic to do the OFHG when doing the valve cleaning. Someday I may have to face the pan gasket myself too.
