ok so as stated , my paddles shifters are not working...

here is the story on them and I dont think its a physical issue.

got the car, paddles worked, sport mode worked totally fine. i forgot what i need i think i changed steering wheels or just the buttons on the wheel and then sport mode stopped working and paddles no longer worked, when i press a paddle it will go to 4th gear and that its. no other gear would show. also slapping my shifter hard and quick into sport mode would show S on dash but go away after a split second.

SOOO

i alpina flashed my car, cool, sport mode worked after that BUT no feedback from paddles at all... so we coded the paddles (aka step 2 in alpina flash coding) to work cause late model 135 cars require this and it did the same thing as before, where sport mode didnt work and only 4th gear would come up when pressing or pulling the paddles.

now i have it setup where sport mode works but not the paddles, via stage 3 xhp....yes i tried swapping back to original steering wheel buttons but no bueno.

anyone have any insight on this ?

I had a problem where my paddles didn't work, but it turned out my multi function buttons were bad or not seated properly. I switched back to my old ones and it started working. I also added some electrical tape to that part of the wiring harness that gets bent a lot as the shielding was starting to crack.

Have you hooked up xHP and just tried to pull the bin? XHP will do a few checks and let you know if it finds anything wrong. I had an issue with my perfectly functional Alpina flashed e90. Never had an issue, went to upgrade to xHP and it alerted me I had some coding problems I had to fix before I was able to continue.

I'm sorry if I'm dense, just having trouble following the last paragraph of the original post. Maybe I need to go back to 8th grade reading class or something.
i need to look over what i wrote, i was getting pretty frustrating typing this on my work computer with people trying to talk to me about actual work stuff....gross

Trying to follow your original post....
What was it that changed last, just before the paddles stopped working?

I chased the alpine paddle issue, it's what got me to actually grasp & understand coding finally. But your op reads like "I changed a part, and now my paddles don't work. Is there a coding fix for my hardware issue?"

using xhp or inpa ?

Using NCS and then some coding tool, either NCSdummy or whatever else you have available ?

o i forgot what i need i think i changed steering wheels or just the buttons on the wheel and then sport mode stopped working and paddles no longer worked

So what did you change, and change back? Pretty big difference between the whole steering wheel, and just buttons... Forgot?

@achxe has been helping me with troubleshooting this paddle issue, he walked me through ISTA and found that the steering angle sensor was throwing a communication fault. so its safe to say that its my clock spring assembly. going to try a new one and update the thread. thanks again @achxe i appreciate it
