Dont know how well that can really filter but I guess panels and such are pretty thin I just would think would clog quickly very little surface area

looks like it would be a massive restriction. Id maybe use it on a single turbo race car to protect the turbo on the street while you baby it to/from the track if you were planning to run open compressor inlet to race. But not DD. Would love to see Cfm on it.

I don't like how the filter seals around the edges, looks like air and particulates could slip by the edge. Not sure why the filter does not cover a larger area the velocity stack and the edge of the filter look to be right above each other. Given how a velocity stack works, there is going to be air trying to come in all around on that edge. If the filter was significantly wider than the opening of the Vstack it would make more sense.

In this picture you can see the multiple gaps in the foam:

Looks like it could let dust in. Every ST kit I know of comes with a filter. I see no data that this flow better with the same level of filtration.

Another large gap in the foam, look at the bottom of the filter, 1/8 of an inch:

What is the picture showing? That is breaks? You can see the gap in the foam again:

A new BMS shorty filter is less expensive afaik and you can clean them as often as you want. I guess I just don't see why this was brought to market? What niche does it fill?

I have never liked foam filters, I thought they were a thing of the 90s and early 2000s:

The neck on the Vstack is very very very small. Usually you see much bigger necks & bell mouths to allow a Vstack to actually work properly. I don't think I have ever seen one so small. I'm not sure it would even function as a Vstack:

See how large the bell mouth is on these Vstacks:

I don't think such a small Vstack is going to have any measurable performance increase:

What is the DBZ top filter thing? Just some character?

If there was a dyno showing gains maybe the price would make sense?

Given the cost of a quality single turbo the risk of bad filtration does not seem worth it.

Just to be clean I am not trying to shit on NRW. It's just I see issues with it. Not worth the risk and every single turbo owner already has a reusable filter.

Yeah you can tap off the top of the bms filter. Like robc iirc. I made a post about single turbos and this exact same thing. Just search.

Remember the studies 20+ years ago that showed paper filters filtering far better than K&N type filters? I put a BMS DCI on my car and honestly not sure why I did it. Just bought an AFe to replace it (version 2 of an idea which I'm not sure why I'm doing it). In the past I have run ITG filters which I understood to be superior to K&N style. Just being honest ... I may introduce more common sense to my filtration choices. That said, the above filter for singles - I'd want to see a filtration test. Maybe the idea here is that you're going to smoke your motor well before particulate kills it :tonguewink:.

and btw, those tests still bear this out. Make sure you look at the graphs. This study is a short read: Effect Of OEM Style And Aftermarket Performance Air Filters On Vehicle Parameters.
