So while you guys are fighting about soldiering vs crimping, I just figured out he didnt find a plug that would work he just went to a more common connection. So he depinned the stock and added a common 6 pin behind it, with extended wiring. Then repinned the old wire with a matching common connection. I feel dumb for searching for so long to find bmw specific connections.

Lol guys I will be making crimped for the ones that want it once I get the part numbers, no need to get into a debate over it.

We have about 6 cars here with the ff manifold all soldered connections with absolutely no issues and they been done by
the local auto electrician with over 20 years experience, his work comes with a lifetime warranty.

I think the cars will be worn out or gone by the time if ever a problem develops with age.

It looks like he used the dt06 connector which is good for 20-14 awg

Yeah that's what I found but depinning and repining I can see people making mistakes, better of getting an auto electrician to do the mod as not everybody
is skilled and have the know how or the proper tools to do this.

The Convert is right.

Correctly depinning, pinning, or attaching the correct contact/connector is easier than correctly soldering in an engine bay if you have the right tools. Also crimped contacts are 100 times more reliable in a vibration environment.

I can pull up the documents if anyone cares to read. All aerospace and nautical standards are crimped, no solder allowed. You know when you want to stay in the sky or above the water...or I guess not sinking in the case of a sub ;) Happy to have the discussion another thread. Don't want to muck this up here, it is about a bad ass intake manifold.

Glad to hear you will be offering a harness! It only makes your intake manifold another level above the others!

Its a good move as plazmaman can concentrate on the things they do best design, fabrication.

It will make it cheaper for the customer as they can ship bulk to one place.

But wait for the vtt to do the announcement.

As long as plazmaman set a max allowable MSRP, I agree on it being a good move.

Has anyone done equivalent before and after testing yet or is it still just eye candy?

I have, but some may say I'm bias due to having a hand in development of it so I'm going to wait till Tony tests it.
