N54 water pump

hello everyone i'm interested in one thing my water pump died on n54 and someone told me that i can install 3.0 n52 water pump instead of original n54 water pump.
so the question: is that possible and will it work if i change water pump + thermostate from n52 to n54

Straight from BMW Tech Docs:

Given we upgrade N54's and generate MORE heat, the N52 pump is headed in the wrong cooling direction ... regardless of how it is constructed.

This is taken from another post here where someone discussed this. Several people in other forums say the same thing to people asking the same question.

You won't get sufficient cooling.
