Hey guys, we were able to take a very high quality Valve cover breather, and with some custom parts got it to fit very well on the N54. A Valve cover breather is common on 99% of high horsepower builds, and very important on big boosted motors. If you have no catch cans, and are just VTA like a lot of Single Turbo cars, this will 100% ensure no crankcase pressure under boost, while its one way check ball ensures the crankcase is sealed under vacuum. If you have a single catch can, at high boost it is most likely overwhelmed, and cannot vent all crankcase pressure resulting in power loss, and possible turbo drain, smoking issues. (We run dual catch cans, and are installing this on top of those to ensure no CC pressure as we plan to run a ton of boost)

The breather consists of 3 different Stainless Mesh screens, and a high quality check ball, a filter, and Valve cover grommet to ensure a tight seal. We have these on both our shop cars, but may make a few more if anyone is interested. The price would be $199 if enough interest was shown.

Honestly, not really we do enough testing in house to show it works, and a Valve Cover breather is nothing new, pretty standard on most platforms. If there is no interest we just throw them on our cars, and call it a day. Just wanted to get a feeler.

Well on many platforms this is an entry level upgrade along with a catch can. The reason the N54 never got one is because of the stupid Valve cover design. These are worthwhile at any power level, but become required or at least highly recommended in our opinion at high boost levels

I run 2 catch cans but I agree that this would be good for single turbo guys that run 1 catch can or maybe none at all! It's really a good idea to make sure the crankcase has a chance to vent properly.

Has anyone dumped into the exhaust post o2 sensor? I know on the e36 platform people were going from VC to catch can to exhaust using venturi to pull pressure.

It should just screw right in. Mines did on my last car. I woukd send you a link to how it works but not trying to cut throat and ruin sales for anyone. This is not new by any means basically

Yes, can't remember the exact findings but I think it's marginally better than nothing but not as good as plumbing into intake tract/single filter.

As far as what needs to be done to the VC, its not simply screwing it in because our VC doesn't have any place for it, and is plastic. VC has to be removed, a specific sized hole is drilled into it, the grommet we provide is inserted in the hole, then the breather is pushed into the grommet, which is locked then to the VC from the inside. This assures a perfect seal, and a positive engagement in the VC.
