N53 gearbox on N54 engine?

Hello, does anyone know if the gearbox and flywheel from the N53 engine would work on the N54?

I'm doing the swap and I'd like to know before disassembling the car as its my only car.

From the pictures on realoem they look a bit different but if it fits with small modifications that's fine.

If it's rwd and 6hp21 then why not? I'm riding on n52 gearbox on my 335i without any problems, doing great.

FYI, it does not work at all. The N53 one is both shorter and has a different connecting rod so the clutch and flywheel isn't compatible. The gearshift assembly is also completely different as expected.

If you have an N54 after 2009 with 6 flywheel bolts, you can probably make a combination and make it work but I wouldn't recommend it.
