ok, at the risk of presenting as an idiot.....I received my boostbox with no instructions. So while I think I know how to install it, I don't wanna screw up and have to go back to jb4. Can anyone provide some direction??

I'll assume you're up and running with a jb4 and mac now? You should be able to just remove the connector that normally plugs into the stock vacuum solenoid, plug it into the boostbox cable, and plug the other end of the boost box into your mac solenoid. Then the plumbing for the mac solenoid should come with it, if not that is available online. Are you running one or two tial wastegates?

I don't know exactly how it is setup with a jb4 as I don't have one, so you'll need to wait for someone else on this one.

I have one wg, and installed per your direction.

So what needed to be done outside of what I described? I'm curious myself as mine should be on the way.

Ok, so installation instructions:
Unplug Mac solenoid from harness, install Motiv BB in between them and ground BB. Then use second plug provided to plug into second boost solenoid plug in harness. Pretty idiot proof as it only plugs in one way.

That's it!

Mac solenoid light flickers constantly also?

Yes, and it'll get brighter the higher wgdc is, according to Chris K. If you see orange flicker and blinking yellow, you're done with that part.

Jake suggested hiding it in the ECU area. Not necessarily in the box but behind metal for added heat protection.

Sorry Just getting to this. Jake and i have been on the Dyno together all weekend with several cars making maps. I do have some install pictures to help i just need to get them loaded up.

I didnt see a need to run the wiring into the DME box for such a small article. It fits right between the DME box and the strut tower that holds the cabin air filter tray. The LEDs are for power and the other is for the solenoid. The orange solenoid light will get brighter when it sees actual PWM. These are for troubleshooting purposes, If you suspect an issue with any part of the system you can just use the control A table and set it to 50% WGDC. If the orange light is flicking bight and the Mac isnt making noise then its a bad Mac solenoid or wiring to it. Most failures ive seen is from the connector on the Mac or placing the Mac to close to the manifold or turbo.

I'm told it does not. I hooked up to the "shorter" wire.

Here is the grounding point:

And here is where my Mac is mounted.

And here is the boostbox and resistor plugged into the stock wg solenoid harness

What is this resistor in the picture? I got a boostbox and trying to find proper instructions.

The dummy plug is no longer needed anymore. I believe that was only on early Boost box versions or perhaps before the toggle to disable the code for not having the stock solenoids plugged was discovered.

Thanks for the response.

So the 2nd plug from the harness just stays disconnected? Also, I suppose it doesn't matter which of the two the BB gets plugged into?

There are two connectors on the BB. A male and female. one connects to the mac solenoid, and the other to where you'd normally connect your oem boost solenoid (you have two of them. leave one unplugged) and that's it and correct, it doesn't matter which one you plug the BB into.

That's what I was thinking. I appreciate the clarification.
