I did some forum searches, did some reading, but couldn't RTFM the following:

I have a 30k mile 2011 N54 Z4 ... I purchased a single barrel from VTT. I'm planning to go to the flex fuel solution when it comes out. This winter my car is going to bimmerlife coils w/N20 plugs, and I'm looking to upgrade the fuel system to prep for ethanol. I have a few questions.

1. HPFP - should I be replacing my 2011 pump? I've been unable to find anything that indicates if this is a wear item or not, and wether I should replace it as I go to single barrel.
1a. If I should replace, can I go to a reman pump (like FCPEuro which gets a lifetime warranty)? Is there advise on what to buy?

2. LPFP - a somewhat mystery topic on the Z4. @Steve@Fuel-It! makes an upgrade - I assume it is done as the Z4 pump suffers similar limitations to the other N54 brethern, even though the pump is not controlled the same way (not controlled at all I believe). Any opinions here?

Thanks in advance for any advise!

1. Personal preference. I wouldn't yet, should have another 25k on it before I'd start thinking of preventative replacement. Definitely go with a lifetime warranty vendor, I just finished installing one for a buddy and the non oem pumps seem identical.

2. @BQTuning has a Z, might be able to help

I got a HPFP mega cheap but since I'm double shotgun, if my original goes out I'll be replacing it for sure with one from FCP.

A new pump wouldn't be the worst way to spend your money if it's fairly disposable. If it a choice between a different model and new hpfp they I would choose the mod..

The new ones with the magnet in they are much more reliable.

If you were trying to do a STAGE 0 of sorts I'd make sure you had all index 12 injectors and a good carbon cleaning before the new hpfp :)

STAGE 0 is the most important mod on these cars!

Thanks for the feedback. I went to a catch can and RB PCV at 23k so I kind of thought I had a bit of time on the walnut blast? The index 12 ... yup ... hear ya ... thanks.

I'm buried in two cars getting heads on them, and a host of other things. Hence the Z4 will head to a buddy of mine mid-January for a host of work, and I'll drop in a few days and pitch in help. Thanks, I've added the S63 V8 injectors to the list. Spoke with Steve @ Fuel-It today and ordered all the bits from his end.

Now I just need to sort out what gyrations are needed to install the single barrel setup on the Z4. Guaranteed it's not the same as an E9x et al. It's all the same ... but different.

Anyone know Fuel-It's address? I need to send a bucket in for rebuild. Steve's out until next week and nothing is on the web site. Thanks!
