Latest thoughts on best B58 coil packs and plugs for a modest tune?

Got a misfire on cylinder 1..plugs and coils have been in for 15k-20k miles..

Running Nexsys B58 coil conversion with TTE500 turbos making 550 BHP on 21 psi boost on 99 Ron fuel

Latest votes on preferred coils and appropriate plugs to suit coils and tune ?…NGK plugs I assume..

Best B58 coils are Eldor, as far as i know, in europe you can only get them from BMW.

I’ve ordered Genuine BMW Ignition Coil pack 12138643360 B38 B48 B58

I have an early Nexsys kit…are there any issues with boots, springs etc?

Still need advice on plugs ?

I tend to over engineer / over think things..so when I decided to go hybrid turbos I did a stem to stern update..fresh index 12s, uprated LPFP. uprated LPFP controller, uprated inlets , bigger flow exhaust system, Wagner 3 FMIC , mr 5 inlet mod etc..so looked at uprated coil solutions..

So now ordered Eldor coils and NGK 1-Step Colder Spark Plug (97968)

I have noticed this. I would chime in and help but have zero issues on factory ign system and 2 step colder NGK.

@pbondar and anyone else that went B58 coils and plugs, if you had the chance to choose between keeping eldor n54 or going to b58 coil swap, what would you choose now?

One of my eldor n54 coils finally went out and can either put in another n54 eldor or go to b58.

I'm very happy with the Nexsys with pukka B58 coils..no obvious issue apart from the 'classic' cyl 6 misfire under full boost occasionally..will try stock Bosch 3 claw plugs next time..using NGK..the first set got eaten up after about 20k miles..

Great to hear. Thing is, I've got an s257sxe running up to (rarely on that map) 32 psi peak on full e85 and it would be sweet to run a stock gap on b58 plugs for that efficiency.

What gap do you have on them?

I’m on 26 thou …I may go stock with Bosch plugs but I’m only 21.5 psi max on 98 RON..my tuner reckons at my level no need to tighten gaps..

Buy the NGK 94201 which are the "specific" spark plug for B58
