I doubt you will find anyone. Those are rather small turbos. ~50 lbs/min or something like that? a 6466 is almost double for instance.

You can find a bunch of flow rates here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/evo-x-dyno-results/692309-turbo-flow-rates.html

Precision (PTE) 5857 60
Precision (PTE) 5858 CEA. 60+
BorgWarner EFR 7670 64
Garrett GTX3076R 65
Garrett GT3582R (AKA GT35R) 65
Garrett GTX3576R 65+
BorgWarner S362 65+
HTA GT3582R (82HTA wheel) 70
Precision (PTE) 6262 74
So for a DD, would something like an s362 be a good option? Lots of flow but with decent spool?

It could be. 65lbs vs say 90 lbs per min of a 6466 is going to spool a lot faster. A lot less mass of wheels to spin.

What fuel will you be running?

I have zero problem DDing a 6466 fwiw. The 3L has enough power NA to get out of it's own way. I kind of like the turbos not constantly spooling at 1k rpms. It is just a different driving experience. Especially with a manual.

Probably sticking with 93.

I can agree with this. I went with a Gtx 3582R. I would have no issues dailying my car with this setup. My car is also manual. It almost makes the car more rewarding when you drive aggressively. And T51R mod is a must.

Great to hear you guys aren't running into any drivability problems with those larger turbos👍 It's not too much like an on/off switch coming into boost?

I had to Google T51R mod, does that just affect the sound of the turbo spooling?

So I'm going to be on a pretty tight budget when I do this. Will it work the same to buy the kit with the Borg s364? It looks like flow rates are similar, but the price is a lot better. If I need to buy the Garrett I will, but I'd rather put that money into other things.

@Jmantx I’ll be real I don’t have a real garret at the moment. I’m using a Pulsar. No issues spools like a normal garret from what I can tell. I am using a vband back housing

My cars very linear. I find my self accidentally in boost going up hills and such. I believe T51r mod is just for sound.

You don't need a garrett, or any other watercooled turbo, unless you are want to 'race' your car.

I would read this:

Yes. Personally, I love the sound.

<-- info on the mod itself. I highly doubt any measurable amount of power is lost. This is just how to make an air raid siren basically with a turbocharger. Youtuber comment "I believe what's happening is you're making an air siren. We'd expect that turbo to be spinning 10-25,000 rpm just out of boost. If you have a 6 blades (3 pair) moving past 4 blocks (2 pair), it will 'chop' 12 times per rev. 10k rpm = 166.7 rev/sec, 25k rpm = 416.7 rev/sec. This is how many pulses happen per second: 10k rpm = 166.7 * 12 = 2000 Hz 25k rpm = 416.7 * 12 = 5000 Hz Now search for the video "20Hz to 20kHz (Human Audio Spectrum)" and play it from 2000 to 5000 Hz at 1.5x speed - sounds just like the car in this vid! The minor differences are likely resonances from the motor & the fact the turbo isn't making a sine wave sound. It sounds more like a square wave, since the blade & post edges are not parallel. If you do the math for 6 blades and 3 anti-surge posts, the frequency is cut in half. I suspect smaller/faster turbos would sound better with 3 anti-surge posts."

So, I put my old stock turbos back on. Unfortunately, they won't make boost except for a few psi after throttle closure. I've swapped solenoids, I've checked to make sure the wastegates closed, I've checked vacuum in the whole system, and still no boost. I'd there a fuse that controls the solenoids? I can't find anything about it. I'm kinda stuck.

I ended up getting the stock turbos to make boost again, but even at 100% wgdc they only make 14 psi.

Also changed a vcg and vc. The top end looked pretty clean to me, making me wonder if the PO replaced an engine at some point. I may have a lead on a Docrace top mount kit with a Precision 6266bb. I've been debating between single turboing this car and buying an E36.

Sadly enough, school is going to be in the way of a single turbo. I picked up some used oem turbos which I assume we're replaced under warranty on Sunday night for $100. I installed them yesterday, and the car makes 17 psi again. They don't seem to be leaking. I'm shopping for an E36, and my dad will be buying the 335i.

So an update on my dealings with CTS turbo: I sent multiple emails to the support/warranty department and never received a reply after my turbos arrived at their facility. Today I sent an email to the sales department asking them to refund my money or return the turbos. I received an email from them not long after, this time from the warranty department. They said that they finished inspecting the turbos and would be fixing them today and tomorrow. We'll see how this goes.

Shoulda sent them to me. I would have had them replaced in person 😂.
