Werk in uitvoering.

Very nice, who is doing your tuning?
Are you not worried about bending a rod with the 1019nm coming in so early in the rpm? can the tuner not cap the torque at about 950nm to save the clutches, unless you have upgrade them.

The tuner is BR Performance: https://www.br-performance.com/langselect/

The torque will be limited to 1000 Nm. The transmission has xHP3 stage 3 tuning. This puts extra pressure on the clutchplates.

Thanks that's great news, and very good idea from your tuner, the XHP is one of the best items to increase the line pressure.

What did you pay for the tune if you don't mind me asking mate?

The ECU tune alone costs me around 2600 dollar. For that money they log and tune the car on the dyno and on the public road. The tune itself is custom based on the dyno runs and testing on the public road. So specific for my setup. They assume 3 days of tuning work. But they take longer if necessary.

This morning was the moment of truth. I was finally able to pick up the car.

The installation of the Pure Stage 2 turbos and the upgraded fuel pumps, combined with a custom BR tune, has taken my car to a whole new level. The result? The engine now delivers about 800 hp at just over 6500 rpm, and the torque is insane: an almost flat torque curve of around 1000 Nm from 2500 to 6500 rpm.

Right after picking it up, I headed to Germany to unleash the beast. Unfortunately, there was too much traffic to push it past 300 km/h, but I still got to test it out on stretches with lighter traffic. And what an experience!

Driving Experience
The power this car now delivers is phenomenal. You can feel the engine pulling immediately from lower RPMs, and the torque stays consistent all the way up to high RPMs. Compared to before the Pure Stage 2 turbos were installed, when the torque gradually dropped from about 1000 Nm at 4000 rpm down to 800 Nm at 6200 rpm, the difference is truly noticeable. The car keeps pushing effortlessly, without losing power as the revs increase.

Accelaration
Acceleration is now truly addictive. Between 100-200 km/h and even beyond, you can really feel how quickly the M5 shoots through the speedometer. I used my Dragy to do a 100-200 km/h run, and the time came in at a neat 5.94 seconds (Dragy output attached). This is clearly faster than before, and I can feel that the car now pulls more smoothly through all the gears, without any sense of power "drop-off." I expect it can go even faster, as I did the run with tire pressure at 3.3 Bar (Autobahn pressure ;-)), which meant there was almost constant wheelspin.

Soon, I expect to do some 200-300 km/h runs and test the V-max. Iā€™m anticipating 200-300 km/h in 15-15.5 seconds and a V-max of 340 km/h.

In short, Iā€™m super happy with the results of the tuning and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get the most out of their F10 M5.
