Tomorrow I fly towards the East Coast and begin driving a 2016 M4 home. I've not been this jazzed about a replacement car since my Supra in the early 2000s. The wife is poking fun at me, I''m having a hard time focusing on work, etc. Should be a nice upgrade from my 335 E92.

Nice! Will you Bootmod it before or after you get home? :)

I’m still not sure which direction I’ll go, MHD or BM3 or other. Funny you ask, I was exchanging email with Wedge even before pulling the trigger on this car, asking about a 93 map.

@Torgus - mulling that over right now, bought a set of VRSF downpipes earlier this morning. Just two words however - "mfgr's warranty". Still 18k miles left. I'm worried about leaving fingerprints behind.

@jyamona - yes DCT. I put 1k miles on getting it home, and absolutely dig it. As a hardcore manual guy from learning to drive on a 3speed stick in the early 70s through 6 years ago (E92 335 xdrive), the DCT makes me grin.

What’s the rush? How about just enjoy her as-is stock for a couple of months? Get used to her engine, transmission, brakes, handling dynamics, etc. And push her hard - any gremlins will probably make an appearance in the first six months for a warranty repair. Then having satisfied yourself that “she’s a keeper”, go ahead and buy that blonde wig and hire the cosmetic surgeon for her! :hearteyecat:

I find it difficult to leave any vehicle in a stock configuration, that wig and plastic surgery are, well, addictive... :) Downpipes will be a nice simple mod, add some grunt and change the exhaust note a bit.

Man am I digging this DCT. Stock power is decent, handling & driving is next level for me - learning to drive again. First application of F11 top coat yesterday, she's shiny!
