Could check with Omar on their offered block too. I'll be getting their closed deck when/if my block goes.

I used the ACL race bearings when I did my oil pan. They seem to work? I'm also running RVS-USA ceramic coating. Again though, I'm tuned for 93 pump and won't ever be using ethanol or meth.
Gotcha I’m going to be running full e85 100% of the time and possibly adding meth as well if I feel like it’s needed. From all input it seems just go with any reputable pistons/rods acl and king bearings and I should sleeve the deck am I missing anything else?

Just good break in oil and quality oil. The je ultra pistons and the mahle powerpak pistons come with a coating from the respective factories, those were the only pistons I was considering personally seemed to be the best quality for the money while offering a coating

Did you know you can coat pistons? Yes, you can!

Why? Reason being, you want to keep the heat in the combustion chamber and keep the cylinder head cooler. In doing so, you get the heat out of the cylinder head into the exhaust, thus yielding higher horsepower and increased engine longevity.

It's a ceramic thin film thermal barrier coating, designed to be applied on the top of pistons, top of valves and the combustion chamber on a cylinder head.

Cerakote is also used by several top fuel drag teams and piston manufacturers, and can tolerate operating temps of up to 1800*F.
This coating has been utilized in the field for a number of years, and is not 'new' by any means, we just want to showcase another avenue of the successful application of Cerakote!
Please find more product technical information at the Technical Data Sheet found at https://www.cerakote.com/finishes/V-136Q/piston-coat/
Why not buy a piston with a coating from the factory? This is a good service to do if your pistons don't have a coating but why pay extra 250-300 when many brands already come with a coating

I’ve heard only good things about je at least for our platform and I know abg uses them on their blocks as well so I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m going with and molnar seems pretty solid for rods

Yeah molnar has been well proven at 800-900 whp id say. Je I have heard are one of the more noisy pistons at cold start they take a little bit to heat up and expand . That's why I figured I'd give mahle a shot, I mean mahle is making the stock b58 piston and there pretty well proven to 800 hp out of a stock motor piston.

that’s some great info did you go with stock note size or did you get oversized pistons? I’ve never really messed with sleeves before so I don’t know how that changes the piston situation

I Went with the stock 84mm bore I may get aftermarket sleeves and go to a 84.5 mm piston for my next build not really sure I didn't wanna remove material from the stock sleeve and reduce strength from them

Makes perfect sense that’s what I was afraid of too. I didn’t even plan on sleeving the cylinders until I started this thread and realized the higher rpm has a higher chance of ovaling the cylinders. Sorry to ask so many questions of you but if I do the sleeves would you recommend the oversized pistons then? Or was that just a personal preference

Yeah omar had been pretty active on Instagram hes just been ignoring you lol. The reason I chose to stay at a 84mm bore is Because i didn't wanna oval out them because I rev my car to 8k so I figured more material more strength. If I was to do a sleeved motor I would most likely want to go to a 84.5mm piston just to get more displacement out of the motor for better spool

It’s funny because all I asked him was what was going on with the cams and I’m trying to pay him for shipping lmao no worries I’m sure he’ll answer eventually and how much power are you running with the stock block? Do I need to sleeve/close deck for 800whp?

Mmmmm cannot really say yet because my built motor is not running at the moment still putting it together. Many people have made 800whp on stock sleeves and an open deck some have done 1000 whp on the stock sleeves and a closed deck every engine builder has there preferences and alot of different ways work well. I don't think there's a wrong way or a right way just different ways I've seen guys make 1000+ on aftermarket darton sleeves and still have the deck open.

I was running 32 psi on my 6875 when it let go, leaned out and started super knocking on cylinder 1 ever since a while ago

I’m just worried that I’m going to do rods pistons and bearings and then blow the motor a week later so I’m trying to give myself some confidence lmao

No haven't heard from him in weeks. Still tuning now on IK revisions which is less than ideal but seems to be the new norm.

Also tuning with V8bait on IJ so need to go log the new revision he sent me like a month ago. Works been insane.

Nah just not how it works if your tolerances are all set correctly and your ring gap is all correct motor will Have strong compression and last for a long time. What oil are you planning on using? And are you gonna go with a pinned crank hub?

I’m currently using liquimoly 5w40 but I figured I’d switch to motul after the motor build is that good? I know nothing about pinned crank hubs I’m assuming I should know more lmao sorry I’m new to this platform
