Very cool. Just drop and swap. I'll be watching too see how well these work out.

Nice to have more options. Especially if you don't want, or not comfortable, to build a whole transmission up.

This looks promising
Thank you for your interest, lots of testing and information coming in the near future! If you have any questions at all regardless of if youre in the market or plan to purchase or not please dont hesitate to ask. I like to help and offer advice to people... I am an enthusiast with these cars just as everyone else here. This kit was born out of necessity for myself and friends locally.
I'm about to do transmission work on my car and i'm interested in a sample of your hardware.
I honestly could start making more kits right away, but until we test no product will be sold. We are compiling a list of early tester/buyers for first production run, which we intend to offer a good deal via a group buy with a reduction in cost based on the amount of people that sign up. I want to reward the people who get involved early. After the initial group buy price will be go back to normal until the next sale or group buys.

Currently pricing is not set, but I can say I am pushing hard to make this a good viable bang for buck option. I am shooting for under 3K for a basic kit with everything needed included a stock style driveshaft. The group buy/sale would reduce this price and upgrades for custom DS, trans cooler etc will be options you can add. I will be working very closely with out customers and standing behind our product is paramount to along happy business with great customers who feel taken care of.

Yes sir, simplicity and K.I.S.S. Engineering is what make this options so appealing to myself and others. There are other options to choose from and our option will not be the end all be all... but as you said its great to have more options.

Thanks for the kind word and interest... contact me with any questions or feel free to ask here and I will answer for all to see.

Sounds very interesting as I am currently busy with a rebuild. Put me on the list of a possible group buyer (beta tester).
Good luck with further testing.

Thank yall both for stopping by and chiming in!

I promise there will be a considerable reduction in normal price for the first production group buy and potential early testers etc. The details on how everything will be structured is still up in the air . Our main focus right now is a road ready test car and results for everyone to have some real data proving the validity of this conversion.

I honestly want to hit a price mark much closer to 2k with a stock style DS included. I am being conservative in my pricing estimate as I don't want to tell people too low and then have to raise the price. Whatever the final price ends up being, we are taking into account the entire cost for the conversion... not just our parts/kit we provide. Ideally we want to have the entire price be very enticing vs a rebuilt trans and other conversions out there.

Is there any information on the gear shift? Since everything is pushed back a bit I assume some adjustments are needed for that?

Also, since the drive shaft is telescopic, it will not compensate enough?

Stock drive shaft is shortened. I will be offering several avenues for people to go about driveshafts. There are also various size OEM stock driveshafts that we can choose from to match the 215 differential. I intend to spend some serious time cataloging OEM driveshafts and then finding a suitable Chassis they would apply to for this kit. I attempted to find a 1" shorter drive shaft for this kit... and I did, but it was from an E60... which unfortunately has the smaller 95mm guibo at the transmission. Adapters could be made so that worked... but then you lose the guibo. Its just not the way I wanted to do things.

Send a driveshaft to be modified with your kit.
Core Exchange Program - I provide a modified driveshaft in your kit matched to your current OEM part number. Issue refund after OEM is returned.
Outright buying a modified one directly and selling your stock one or keeping it as a backup.
I provide information and guidance for customer to have a stock DS modified or build them a custom driveshaft at their choice of shop.

or

Custom Driveshaft from DSS

Driveshaft shop is developing a 215 spline style differential adapter that will allow 1350 U Joint custom driveshafts for almost anything. It will also hopefully rid the issues of the weak point with the driveshaft female spline/jam nut pinion design (whatever its called please educate me). Its being made for LSx to 215 diff conversions. I found out not long ago and will update when more is known. Supposedly DSS says the 335i splined diffs have a spline count change depending on year... myself and the guy with the LS are working on submitting that information to them. It will come to fruition in due time... I expect pricing to be similar to what their other custom driveshafts are. $800-$1000 for Aluminum and ~$1600-$2000 for Carbon fiber. Currently only 1 piece DS has been talked about... maybe that will be fine, but my concern on a stock application is DS diameter and fitment with OEM exhaust etc on a low car.

Shifter question...
I will know more in the very near future, most likely this week as everything is put back into the car. We have already test fitted but removed for product announcement. At the time we did not check shifter linkage, but it should be a simple adjustment or modification. I am also working on finding information out on E-Shift applications. Very good questions!

Damn so you have to use a diff out of a diesel too?

What's the max amount of torque one of these has held with a TCU flash?

No you use the stock differential nothing changes except driveshaft. Stage 2 xHP has the 6HP28 limited at 1000nm or 737ft-lb. Stage 3 tune removes the torque limiting all together. I have had dozens of people state they make anywhere between 700-1000 ftlbs on these stock transmission with a good cooler and maintenance. Sutphin tuning has seen up to 1350ft-lb through a triple turbo diesel making 35psi of boost but I want to be conservative in my power limit estimates. I prefer to let the real world experience of the 335D and other 6HP28 owners speak.

Sorry for bieng unclear. Yeah that is what I meant regarding a sample. As in; free :)
I (and noone should) will not pay a dime until this has been properly tested and reviewed and your company has created a track record.

Like others have called out before; Paying to be a beta tested should not be acceptable.

Other than that; It does not seem to be worth it (effort and price wise) to go this routeas you will still send up with a stock gearbox. Which is stronger yes but in my country, these are still bieng killed by x50D 6cilinder tuned diesels who deliver the same kind of torque as highly tuned N54's are able to.
For now my sights are still on the Propulsive Dynamics kit.
Oh I knew what you were hinting at the second you posted it, I was born at night but it wasn't last night.

Nobody is going to be given these for free unless possibly they're a shop or have a serious setup and I need another tester. I live in a city with almost 3 million people and I know more than enough enthusiasts, shops and friends that will test locally where I can put hands on the car. I also have plenty of interest from shops around the world right now and several very powerful cars willing to test. I have way too much time, tooling and material invested to just give these away for free. Given what you've stated, you don't believe its worth your time anyways so I wouldn't be worried about the possibility of getting one for "free".

I applaud you and others with the skills to go make your own though as many will do and I wont even be mad about it. I am not only releasing a product, I am helping pave the way for others to do this... I am giving out any and all information to people and trying to actually share so this isn't such a mystery/unknown to others. So many people do things like this and they don't want to tell anyone anything about it... they're not in it for the community as a whole like I am. As for price, you honestly don't even know the exact pricing yet so I ask you and others to hold your "assumptions" until the product is through testing and released. I guarantee its going to be cheaper than a rebuild 19/21 or some other conversion requiring a standalone TCU and a complicated install. The market we want to hit is people who want a simple straightforward option and this is fully capable of delivering that.

In regards to proper testing will be putting our test car through the ringer, with dyno testing, road testing and 1/4 mile track tests at one of the best NHRA tracks in the world... Houston Raceway Park. There will be updates with all the information throughout testing, any design changes needed or failures etc. This kit is very simple though and there really isn't much to "test"... its a bell housing adapter with a tune and all OEM parts... its not like we are building a space shuttle to go to Mars . I am not the even the first person to do this as there have been a handful of others in the world who welded the 19/21 bell housing onto the 26/28. Without them none of us would have this as an option coming to the market as they were a big inspiration to me a couple years ago when I decided to go this route. They've proven it will work, it does work... and we intend to prove the same without a shadow of doubt. I have also heard of others with similar one off adapters that just aren't marketed and were done by other very amazing enthusiasts with some serious determination and skills.

As for there still being people in your country that are killing these transmission... yes of course its not indestructible nor am I claiming it to be... and everything breaks I don't care what it is, that's racing. We also do not know the situation with each one of those people who have killed these transmission in your country, or anywhere else in the world. Did they have an aftermarket trans cooler? what was the condition of the trans prior to install? did they keep up on their maintenance? Did they overheat it? You can throw around statements like that all you want but without hard data it really doesn't mean much. People will buy these kits, people will blow their transmission up still, because race car life... and it will have absolutely nothing to do with short comings in my kit. These transmissions when built have carried Ford owners into the 7s... they're extremely capable that's not even a question.

The Propulsive Dynamics kit is a great option for many. Precision Raceworks is in my backyard and I have purchased products from them... nothing but praise for those guys, they run a good business and have good customer service. What any propulsive dynamics kit or full on rebuild for 19/21 will never rectify is small shaft size and other weaknesses inside the 19/21 that can never be upgrade. Start launching these cars hard with high RPM stalls and sticky tires at the track going for some serious times and you're going to find out how weak those 19/21 internal shafts are. To further be transparent, a stock 6HP28 is not going to meet some peoples needs... and those people should probably build the trans with at least better bushings and peace of mind. I am offering a solution for people to use from a stock power level to the rowdiest most powerful cars out there wanting something else. My kit is not the end all be all, its it merely another option to choose from.

There's plenty of support for 6hp upgrades. Intermediate shaft, clutches, and bushes and you have a trans that'll hold heaps of power.

I agree with you. Still, it's nice to have options. Not everyone here can build a tranny up. I don't find working on the 6hp difficult, but too some it's akin to brain surgery.

This option here looks like its meant to be more geared towards making the other tranny plug and play. Stick the adapter on, bolt it in. It can be done in your driveway.

Small update, with BIG NEWS! The assembly is back in the car for the first time since original test fit/product pictures were taken.

I am happy to say the stock driveshaft and mechanical shift linkage cable appear to fit without any modification! I cannot confirm for other models/years weather or not their stock DS will collapse enough to take up the difference needed in length due to the adapter moving the transmission rearward... but it appears there is a strong possibility that is the case. I am also already spitballing a few adapter design changes to ultimately make the adapter thinner and thus more chance of stock driveshafts working for all applications.

New photos will be coming later this week when I post my weekly update on here and social media. Consider this an early bonus update just for Spoolstreet!
