I have a 10/08 build date 2009 and it didn't come with an alarm and so I thought I would include some information I discovered along the way as it pertains specifically to the E93 since everything seems to be about the E90/E92.

The problem arises when I couldn't help but notice that my car never chirped when I locked it. The only way to know if the car was locked, is to be physically looking for the flashing lights. Even more irritating, the lights will only flash once and will not light up again with subsequent lock presses without unlocking first. So I did some digging around and found this retrofit kit: 65730427835

The problem, according to Tischer is that they don't actually sell that kit anymore. The mounting bracket and mounting plate are different and it does not come with an ultra-sonic sensor, otherwise they appear identical to the Sedan/Coupe kit: 65120403658

Evan told me that he could order these differing pieces from Germany, so here is a list of the parts which were included in my package:

61316932791 - Hood Sensor Bracket
61319119052 - Hood Sensor
65756949084 - Siren Bracket
65756949085 - Siren Mount
07119906163 - Sheet metal Screw
07129905542 - Hex Nut x4
07119902933 - Hex Bolt x2

The siren mount and siren bracket are the two pieces which are different, but I am not sure if they are actually needed over simply using the parts from the other kit. Regardless, those two parts as well as not having to buy the ultrasonic sensor.

A guy I know installed it and loves it. He left his car at a workshop once and forgot to leave the keys. Gets a call from the shop so he remote unlocked it from his phone apparently

I plan on getting it at some stage. I'm always paranoid that I forgot to lock the car and have walked a mile or two back to check an yep, forgot to lock. This will save my legs a bit lol

Yup. Obviously if there's no signal like deep down in an underground carpark it probably won't work. You'd still be able to lock and lock your car with the regular method of course.

Have you already bought the retrofit stuff yet?

It's already installed. The moment I plugged in the siren I could hear the car doing something. And when I locked the car the clown nose started blinking immediately even though the coding is not done yet.

The remote start and tracking modules are separate so they can work with your factory alarm AFAIK

So @Levanime coded my alarm for me. I get the chirp and the siren goes off when I open my hood with the car locked so I know it's working. This was a really simple mod, the hardest part was ordering the parts.

I still cant believe that BMWs are sold without alarms. I'd really like to have that lock chirp.

Yeah, that kind of blew me away also. I don't have logic 7 either, which is a real bummer because I know it sounds decent. Easier for me to upgrade, but in the meantime my sound system is severely lacking.

Hey man, I'm exactly in your shoes before the installation and would like to order the parts needed, was just wondering if you ended up using the extra siren mount and siren bracket you ordered. Thank you!

If you are an E93, if I recall everything in the top photo is used. The E93 just doesn't have the ultrasonic thing in the overhead light and for whatever reason the cover thing looks different. Presumably the wheel well is a little different.

Thanks for the quick reply man, does your E93 even have a overhead light? I don't think mine does and probably because it would interfere with the top coming off lol... anyhow, so you're saying you ended up using whole kit and didn't have to order anything extra correct?

No, there isn't and its kind of annoying actually. I can barely even remember or understand what I wrote. But basically you want all those individual parts. I wouldn't buy the e92/e90 kit because you'll pay more probably and those two pieces are shaped differently for a reason I think.

Cool, I'll consult w one of the online part stores and try to order the parts myself then I guess. Thanks!

You're screwed probably. They stopped doing the pre-wire around that time. You can check by going to your driver side brake booster area, there should be a plug taped up there for the hood sensor.
