Hi, I've got BMW E61 2008 auto with N53 engine. As fare as i know, this engine is very similar to N54. It will be almost Plug&Play. I've checked that I've got gearbox GA6HP19Z and 335i also uses that gearbox, but than i find out that gearbox is in few diffrent setups which can cover 230, 320 or 400 nM of torque. Can anyone tell me is that true? Or maybe its about different toruqe converters? The reason I'm asking is i would like to stay for now with my current gearbox if possible. Sorry for bad English

19Z, 19TU are the 6hp21. The 6hp28 has multiple bell housing so it can fit the diesel and the v8. It wouldn't surprise me if various torque converters were made for the 21.

Hope that helps.

I found this. It looks like it's about torque converter.

So you are swapping N53 engine for a N54? Just trying to understand correctly. If so, I think with proper coding/programming, you should be able to do that if the transmission is the same one. If not, then perhaps a mechatronics/valvebody/tcu swap and it should be okay. I just don't know how it will operate with a different torque converter, if there is one.

I'm planning to convert my 523i to 535i because I'm in London and 535 is unavailable to buy in Europe. Already booked n54 engine with ecu, cas, key from e93 335i 2007. My one is 2008 e61 LCI. I hope it will do the job. If everything will be OK than I'll keep on moving with mods.

Evan's E61 is what I would like to get near
