Slowly working my way to do this. Got the tv option coded.

Quick question, is the quad lock behind the head unit or the navigation screen?

Nope, just use the Aux line. I mean, its possible, but I can only imagine it being a total pain in the ass, but I haven't really thought about it too much.

Hello
I have a shielded cable problem. All the cables I found are with 2 wires inside and not with 3. Can be done with a 2-wire cable or should be required with 3.
Sorry for my English i use google translate.

You have video + and -
Shield is required for noise suppression you can go without.

If you have multimedia snap in in the console then use that input. Video and sound available

Hi guys,

will this method work on every CIC?
I have an old one from late 2008 with 2012 firmware update, no combox, no reverse cam, no nightview, no dvd changer or TV tuner. Will the Video Input be open after I code the FA?
Best regards from germany

I bought cheap mirroring dongle with av output and cast my phone to navigation display. I use it to watch live data from the car and track the regeneration of the DPF filter.

As far as I know you can not change screen format. And one more thing you do not need to add vo601 in CAS and NFRM. Just code cic:
TVM_VARIANTEN
vm_l4_most_fkat
TV = wert_21
And the TV function will be available in the Idrive menu.

Really $601 is not need ? I check coding all options in my CIC (cic.c1a) and all working OK.I have only 4:3 format, but xradeon do it 16:9 format. Question is - HOW ? Have you seen this post? (xradeon post and photo).

Yes not need it. The first time I coded, I had added 601 but then read in a Romanian forum that you do not need it. Then I removed 601 and everything worked. I use the tv function to cast my phone screen to CIC display and when I turn the phone to the side the picture becomes 16:9.

OK. THX I try removed $601. Do you have two black stripes on the sides of the picture? What does your screen picture look like here (with black stripes) ?

or look like here (no black stripes) ?

Hmmm i have black bars. Now i want 16:9

Hmmm, I think this is not a real 16:9 format. Your image on the screen was cropped. :(
In the post "xradeon" the picture shows that the image on CIC screen has larger proportions and hides behind the screen divider. I do not see the black bars on the sides of the screen (maybe little on the left side). How did he do it ?

Does anyone have a description of all functions from the CIC module that can be encoded?

I think that the DVB input has a max ratio of 16:9. Some of the options that people are using aren’t using this input but rather hijacking the LVDS straight into the screen and they can use different ratios..... I think...
