I just noticed that too, if your going to run to the port over the timing chain run that to the high side and the rear one to the low side.

The vacuum on the low side will draw to much oil from the timing chain area.
Hey Marty, or anyone in that matter, I am taking apart and checking my PCV system to make the changes we discussed and noticed on my high side my can looks like it has not seen one drop of oil at all, It still looks brand new. The check valve was pointing in the right direction towards the can... it was sitting in between port on valve cover and the can as you can see in original photo. What am I doing wrong and what does this mean? I was planning on replacing the 2 one way check valve with the vibrant inline valve that is metered on high side, and on my low side got the radium ORM PCV valve. going to have all new braided lines. but just wondering why my high side can is just pointless right now?

my low side can was full.

I also attached a picture to show you.

setup will be

high side
valve cover-10an hose -vibrant inline valve-can-filter

low side
valve cover-8an hose -can- Radium PCV Valve-6an hose -intakeManfoild

I also noticed the last week, my car been hesitating when when i first tried to hit the gas from a stop when i am idling. A few times it flat out died. dont know if this is related to something

That's normal the high side is there basically just in case now days, the only way you will see oil in there when you get a serious problem with your engine and that's why I kept it.

Because you had the low side on top of the timing chain it will suck a lot extra oil in because there is no baffle there.

On the rear port the cam box acts like a baffle minimising oil being sucked into the catch can.

The low side always fills up quickly, you basically have to empty it every time you fill up and that's pretty normal too when using such big hoses and valves, I found using a an6 hose reduced the oil in the catch can a little bit but I had to use adapters.

Your better off using the bigger stuff and just emptying the catch can more often.

Got it thanks for the info, will move low side to back port for sure.

Hi everyone!

I also installed the vtt valve cover with their 2 catch can set up. The low side has a -8 line from valve cover to catch can and catch can goes to the throttle with a check valve to prevent air going into the system while in boost.

on the high side, it is connected with a -10 line from the valve cover using VTT inline one way check valve (pointing to the catch can) and catch can has VTT breather.
I have attached photo of how I have my setup connected.

in this regards I have a lot of smoke coming out from my exhaust.
The reason I am writing in here is because I have an appointment to remove the head from the engine to have it inspected but after reading this post I believe I could also have my setups wrongly installed? And maybe it is te reason of the car to smoke that bad?

Please if anyone can assist me it will be greatly appreciated . I am attaching a video of the car at idle after 30 minutes of using the car (so it was pretty hot).

thanks for the help you can provide.

regards

jesus

I tried to post a video but for some reason I can’t find the option to upload the video of the car at idle smoking, but I could upload a photo while car is smoking.

Your low side occ setup is correct, it's your high side that is set up wrong. Move the check valve from the hose going into the catch can to the hose going into the throttle body.

Your low side occ setup is incorrect. Your high side is correct. Move the check valve from the -8 hose going into the catch can to the hose going into the throttle body. At least from your picture of your engine bay that's what it looks like. That should fix your smoking issue.

Video isn't allowed because YouTube exists. This entire site gets backed up daily, including the attachments and videos would make that a huge pain.
