I am not trying be a smart ass but just trying to help. ACE does not carry AN fittings. You may want to look up what AN fitting is. I guess what we are not understanding is why you want a larger ID hose than the ID of the Tial fitting? I bet if you measure the ID of the VS Barb it is around .16" as well.

Thank you for understanding. I keep rereading my posts asking myself if I'm not explaining correctly or something :(

Clearly you are not listening.
Stop talking about how the 6mm is designed to fit AROUND the barb.
Understand that I want a 6mm hose. That's it. Your hose is not 6mm ID.

Dude, just stop. All you have to do is go to ACE and buy a 1/8 NTP to 3/8 nipple. It's the same thing.

By the way, I don't have a problem with using the smaller plastic hose. I am saying that if you want to retain the 6mm inner diameter, you are not going to be able to with the plastic hose.

The bigger problem is the 6AN (3/8") hose connector for the OCC hose.

Imagine the blue 6mm inner diameter. Now subtract the black plastic hose's thickness and you have the same inner diameter as the TiAL BOV barb. Are we all on the same page? Good.

Now, forget about that. Let's assume that someone, for whatever damn reason, wants his entire hose to be 6mm inner diameter. That person cannot get that with the supplied black hose. Because the black hose has the inner diameter of the TiAL barb which is less than 6mm.

I hope you guys understand what is being said here. I don't know how to make it any simpler for you.

I just realized why you are saying this. My fault for not clarifying that '6AN' when I say it here refers to 3/8 of an inch in diameter. Not an actual technical AN connector with the fancy nuts and threading.

Stop calling a NPT fitting a AN fitting and I’ll be glad to stop. They are two totally different things! What we are both wondering is what are you gaining using a 6mm ID hose when the fitting going into the blow off valve is .16”. I could totally see you point if the Tial fitting had a 6mm ID but it does not.

Edit: If not using the RB adapter on the TB it uses a 1/8 npt to 3/8 barbed fitting. That would screw right into the BMS adapter.

Thank you, like I said I’m not trying to be a smart ass just trying to help. AN is the threads/angle of the flair not the size of the hose.

1. The product is labeled as BOV Vacuum Adapter.

Does not state anywhere it is compatible with the RB external PCV
To make it compatible
You must buy a 1/8” NPT to 3/8” hose barb

6AN is 6/16” or 3/8” ~9.5mm
This is for the ID of the hose.

2. I just went out and did my own measurements

The INSIDE DIAMETER for the BOV barb even for my eBay one is 4mm (.16”) the outside is 6mm-7mm for the barb to barb lol

The INSIDE DIAMETER for the plastic BMS line is 4mm (.16”) and the OUTSIDE is 6mm

The INSIDE DIAMETER for bulk 1/4 vacuum line is 1/4” or ~6mm (wow)
The OUTSIDE DIAMETER is like 12mm for me it was some thick orileys bulk vacuum line.

I guess we are guessing why you want a ~6mm id hose when the
Barb fitting only has a 4mm I’d

It works fine for me the BOV opens as it should.

If you wish to use 6mm ID line I believe you must find
6mmx8mm Tubing and get the corresponding push connect fittings.
Hopefully payam can chime in on what material the line is made out of
PTFE/Teflon or nylon?

The "plastic" line we use is the same black version of our methanol line.
Supposed to be used with the push lock fittings provided with the full kit.
Everything should be PNP :)

Normally members are not supposed to be able to create threads in Sponsor Forums, but due to a permissions snafu this one got through. Vendors have full moderation control of their own dedicated forum, it is for their news, promotions, etc. This thread was initially deleted as Vendors get local moderator permission of the area they pay for and rightly so. However the user has threatened to delete his account due to 'site censoring' so I've taken another look at this and spoken with BMS. The truth behind the thread deletion is:

1) Vendor forums are not for people to smear the vendor's brand
2) The vendor believes they could have approached the question a bit better

The deletion had nothing to do with silencing the customer, in fact they were doing him a favor because this is embarrassing to read. If you know how AN fittings work and understand if you have a 4mm ID restriction on one end of a connection, it doesn't matter how big your hose is.

OP - If you want to keep the original 6mm ID line and OEM Tial barb on the BOV, just put the BMS supplied barb on the adapter end and plug your original silicone hose into that. No need to use the BMS supplied pushlock fittings/hose or buy anything extra.

I guess some may want to go this route for cosmetic reasons or whatever (colored hose). From a performance standpoint there's should be no difference since the Tial barb itself poses the same restriction as the BMS supplied line.

Wouldn't the larger diameter actually slow response cause would act as a buffer? I always thought you wanted the least amount of volume possible on any signal line. Oversized diameter would be like making longer than necessary it would just increase delay correct?

To an extent, yes; You wouldn't want to run say a 1" ID line for that reason. But going too small is a problem too, since it's acting mechanically on the BOV diaphragm you need it to flow enough to move the diaphragm at a reasonable rate.

Ok but technically that size would be the size of port on Bob or slightly less right . I am asking cause I run 4 an braided hose and want to know if this is the optimal setup

Thanks for letting me know. I just purchased a 1/8” NPT to 3/8” hose barb from Summit Racing.

Have you tried emailing support? Did you actually measure anything before saying we don't supply the correct stuff for the TIAL BOV?
From what it sounds like, you need to take your car a professional if you cant find appropriate fittings...

That's a dick response dude.

F barbed anything anyway when able to avoid.

NPT to 1/4" push lock fittings + tubing

Why in the world are people still talking about the hose line diameter? The purpose of this thread was to inform the consumers that the kit is not compatible with the RB OCC hose with is 3/8" (6AN). This was not advertised with the product and I found out after it arrived, that is why I posted this to let everyone know in case they were expecting it to be compatible.

Yes, this kit has a plastic line that is the same ID as the TiAL nipple ID.
No, the plastic line is not as big as the 6mm line that I have.
Yes, the plastic line works fine if you want to use it.

End of story.

I previously had a 4mm ID hose for the TiAL and when I upgraded to the 6mm, the transient response was a little smoother and quicker. Now I run that line with the Vader Solutions kit for a while with zero issues. When parts arrive for the RB OCC hose fitting, I will test this BMS unit (with my 6mm hose) to see if there is any difference at all.

With the current fittings we offer it will not work, but it is still compatible. All you need is a 1/8"NPT to 3/8" barb fitting you can pick up at your local hardware store. :)
