Hello all,

I'm curious what computer software you guys are using for your e9x's.
(also, are we allowed to ask for download links here or is that 'frowned upon'?)

With this being said we should ask the question, What all are you wanting to do with the software? Personally, I have only found use of the winKFP and NCSExpert applications even though, just like your toolbox you can never have too many tools for unexpected jobs!

He basically gave the rundown of what each one is used for.

E-Series Platform
winkfp - flash stuff (Flashing a module with a software ie updates, Alpina Flash, PPK etc.)
ncsexpert - read/write parameters to stuff (Coding tool to enable hidden factory options)
ncsdummy - changing parameters and nettodat coding (Used to interpret NCSExpert's files.)
bmw coding database - for switching different chassis in winkfp (Easy tool for updating daten files)
inpa - factory level diagnostic tool (Easy to use code scanner/diagnostic tool)
ista-d - dealer level diagnostic tool
ista-p - dealer level programming tool (to flash and code stuff) (More advanced than WinKFP, but recommened to use an ICOM interface cable.)
radar32 - icom specific (Used for ICOM to connect computer to vehicle.)

F-Series Platform
E-Sys (Coding tool to enable hidden factory options)

Not posting the link, or even saying I've had experience with the download, but on an E90 forum someone posted a full VM image called BMW Coding VM - V3. Has all the software you'd possibly need.

Most of my coding/diag/battery/adaptations I get away with the Carly for BMW app + MHD on Android, but when injectors are due, I'll go ahead with using that image.

well if you only need to code for one car/one platform then its managable... but its a different story with multiple platforms especially for older cars with things running on bus k/d bus....and different daten versions...
