Sucks to hear this. They were close enough for a short drive to get specialty items and had a decent show/meet once a year. Probably fell to FCP's warranty, and ECS.

Same. Shame. I blame ECS.

They must have had offers over the years...unfortunately their name is worth pennies on the dollar now that they are out of business. Sad. 1st Turner now BAV. NE used to be a good place to be a BMW enthusiast given all the local companies and local parts.

Why announce you are dead instead of simply announcing a successor? Seems like someone is in need of attention or something is going on.

Probably begging the previous companies that made them offers.

Someone will buy the name and IP for next to nothing now and not their debt. That is my guess.

Sad to see all the smaller companies and parts distributors going away. Then we are stuck with ECS for instance.

Nah, we got @JR@FCPEuro here and they support this forum. So we should make sure we point out business their direction just for the sake of maintaining competition in the market if not their warranty and service.

Nah, unless JR's side gig is driving the fedex truck that was supposed to be here Friday...
Ordered that shit a week ago and would much rather be working on the e92 for next weekends track romp.

Here's my take. I think it is probably BS. ECS Tuning has gotten so much blowback in the enthusiast community, especially on the Turner buy, that an alternate approach could be more effective: instead of saying it has purchased BavAuto/IP/et al ... it weaves the story of saving the BavAuto product line, servicing cusomer Bavauto gift cards (why?), etc. Oh ... and it seems to own the domain as well. So they have the product IP, the branding IP, the domain, honoring the gift cards ... sounds like they purchased them, and the rest is trying to tell a story that doesn't equate to another ECS buyout of a good company.

I always did well with Bavauto. Didn't buy from them all the time, but 100% satisfaction over 30 years of BMW purchases.

And yet it's still twice the price of the Harbor Freight one.

I don't see how the BMW wand would attach to the hose on the harbor freight tool...at least the bav auto one is a 3/8" fitting that will bolt right up.

I have a connect at the dealer so buying the vacuum attachment and the wand come in way cheaper than what ECS wants

Yep Filippo, I think you hit the nail on the head. the description in the media blaster listing says ECS acquired the BavAuto brand. Sure smelled like a BS story, no reason for a "rescue" unless they had a vested interest in the brand.

Check here for the fittings needed to adapt the HF blaster to the BMW wand: http://www.bimmerhelp.info/DIY_N54_Valve_Blast.html
The DIY shows the how to put it together. I have the setup, it works well
