So after a little bit of testing and working out some details with pricing we have decided to move forward with the GB. Kit price will be 720 shipped in the lower 48 states. This is going to be a 1 time deal MAYBE 2 at most depending on demand. The kit will be using the following parts.
  • Setrab 25 row oil cooler
  • Mishimoto oil thermostat
  • 2 brackets
  • 2 hard lines for in between thermostat and Omars transmission fittings
  • 2 soft lines going from the thermostat to the cooler itself.
I have tested the kit in 98 degree weather and so far found no need for a fan but if you drive in a lot of stop and go traffic in 100+ degree temps you might want to consider one. Outside of that your temps should never see over 200. On the freeway even in 98 degree weather I was able to see 170 degree temps with no ducting at all. My main concern with a fan is that this is my girls daily driver and getting rid of 1 less failure point takes priority. My friend Tyler who will be tagged on the facebook post can vouch for how solid my trans temps are in 90 degree weather. I typically have him beat by 20+ degree F at all times. The setrab core is rated at 33,000 btu/hr rating which is enough to cool a 350hp motor and only yields a 2psi pressure drop. Again you should have no worries about transmission temps or pressure drop based on these numbers.

Ah i almost forgot to mention my car has 80k on the clock and as far as i am aware the trans has never been serviced..... so this may be old ass fulid.

I need at least 12 people on board and once payment is collected we are looking at a 2 to 3 weeks production time. This is me quoting conservatively because shit always goes wrong in group buys. There is 1 local car that will be tested before all kits go out to verify fitment.

PS you will need 1.5 to 2qts of trans fluid to do this job.
The final kit will use braided line not push loc

Yea looks super nice! You said 170 degrees.. What are normal operating temps without a cooler?
That actually varies a lot based on ambient temps. From what i have seen 180 to 200. My buddy sitting in a drive thu can see 230+ sometimes.

The core and the thermostat alone are around $400 a little lower if you shop around. Then you have the cost of fittings, hose and making the brackets.

And then you need a profit margin. People don't do this for free

What do you consider affordable?
Nothing wrong with OP's kit, don't get me wrong. I just priced out my own kit and it was less based off of different products used. That's just me though.

I do not mean to be rude saying this! You can always build something for less but it is going to come with some sort of sacrifice. If people want to choose saving a few bucks over a higher quality product then they are more than welcome to do so. I need to make this a long lasting, robust & reliable part that someone never has to worry about; similar to that of an oem part. Cheap cores, rubber push on lines, and worm clamps are not going to achieve the quality of product I want to deliver.

For all the people saying the price is to high or they can do it themselves I have attached an image showing all the parts needed to duplicate this kit. I have nothing to hide as this is my hobby and I am only trying to contribute to the community.
