Anyone used a ceramic insulated jacket around the turbos?

As title suggested …seems quite popular on various forums on turbos…

A thermodynamic engineer says it may improve efficiency by upto 0.2%….

Space I assume is an issue down there?

Anyone had any experience?

I don't think they will do a thing other than lighten you wallet. n54 turbos already get white hot with the stock 10T tubines:

On a top mount it makes sense as you don't want the turbo to effect your hood's paint. You wrap the DP to keep heat away from everything else, not to keep the velocity up.

If I manufactured turbo blankets would I make them for the n54? Sure, I guarantee I would sell enough to recoup my investment. People buy stuff that has no real world performance increase all the time.

edit: What is neat about the above video, other than the glowing white hot turbos, is it is controlled by a https://en.kms.vankronenburg.nl/kms-management-ecu-md35. $1000 ecu + $600 throttle kit. Which in another video they have the KMS MD35 ECU controlling a 700hp 8025rpm single turbo drift car with an n54 engine swap.
