Anyone use this method to see if you have a leaky injector?

Rear inlets are cut to get them out..

In tha case, leave the inlets on and just say that you noticed a crack in the plastic and replaced it because you didnt realize it was an item that was warrantyable. Just try and act smart about the reasons why and the warranty company should accept it. Injectors are not related to the inlets so you should be good either way. Turbos, would be the questionable thing but im sure inlests are less of an issue vs outlets.

Yea... awd models you have to drop the subframe for the downpipes to come off. Warranty companies try to get out of everything they could say the inlets changed the flow or something that they are not designed for. It's just alot of risk at least 1 full 12 hour night making it stock again. Then the warranty ends up denying a claim that the dealership hits me with a $200 diagnosis then I spend another 12 hours (24 total) putting my mods back in and dish out another 1200+ on injectors+ install and coding. I wasted money on a warranty I know but they did replace my water pump 3 days after I bought it before I modded it. I'll put it back to stock if the motor blows or the trans tanks etc any big big ticket items. Think I will wait for some index 12 injectors used for now.

This stuff confuses me tho remanufactured 6 for $179? They say lifetime warranty lol. Like wtf seems like alot of people buy these too (not just this auction but many others...). Sorry I bought this car before I had to take a pay cut I bought it before I had 2 kids and pay shit tons in child support even tho I have a 60/40 placement before I developed type 1 diabetes (shits expensive). Just saying if my injectors are bad what could be worse than trying this if money was rough... The car alone is not a daily driver I do all my own work I have 3 other paid off vehicles. Plus this car even at 78k miles is not worth much.

The link you pasted was just injectors but doesn't say what index. They are likely index 9, which was the most notorious for failing. They aren't really "re-man" either. They're just used. The chinese supplier probably got them in a bulk deal at pennies on the dollar. They can offer you a lifetime warranty because if they have to replace 3 of them, they aren't even out a full 10 bucks for all 9, and they made $180 on you the first time around.

I would get the intermotor ones from Advance 3 at a time before I messed with these. Some people have purchased them though, and had luck. Others not so much. If I were flipping a car and had injectors that didnt run at all - i might get the ebay ones. Building for performance of any kind? Nah.

Honestly if this is true, revert the car back to stock (everything) fine a way to get the stock inlets back on then sell your mods (except tune) and run a stage 1 tune throughout your warranty period then mod it later.

If you are trying to mod a car with the BMW tax mods and the maintenance costs alone you really shouldn't mod it. Concentrate on the maintenance first then mod when your warranty expires.

Just because the values of these cars have come down so much everyone can afford it people seem to not realize that they also have a 3-6k price tag of parts and labor or more if the previous owner cheaped put on anything then it gets more expensive when modding. Do what you can afford first which to mean is reverting to stock for a free warranty repair then dont mod it until the warranty expires or your income increases to where you have expendable income.

I barely drive it and I'm not sure if I am leaking or not even could be the high E85 content that makes first start not instant. These are the only thing I haven't really done maintenance wise. I have done a full transmission flush all sleeves replaced the square thing above the mechtronics unit all fluids changed redline in front and rear differentials. Ofhg vcg walnut blast occ NGK plugs every 10k all coils done hpfp lpfp water pump belt tensioner idler pulleys belt etc probably missing a few things all in the 28k I've owned it

Testing for leaky injectors that way can work,Just make sure the motors cool and you have the tool to re-compress the seals. An easier way that I use to check is with a bore scope through the spark plug hole. and disconnect the injectors. Alot faster to do and you don't have to worry about fuel flying at you everywhere. There are a lot of cheap bore scopes that use your phone screen through a usb otg adapter. Also if the plugs are wet or smell like fuel when u pull them thats a sign as well.

I wonder what sort of refurbishment these injectors go through? I have some 937's but for the future, interesting concept if money is tight.

I have a suspected leaky #6 injector, my spark plug has black soot and my bank 2 STFTs are -7. Car will stumble on startup
