@Whitbread did you ever get anywhere with this? I’m doing to need a clutch sometime before the fall. Slowly collecting parts for a build.

I talked to @Whitbread on the phone about this, was gonna order it, he was talking to the machine shop that was going to make the flywheels, and I never heard from him again. I’ve emailed twice since then, as well as texted twice since then, no response.

I think I’m gonna go with an organic twin disc X-Clutch. They have been helpful and responsive in figuring out what I need.

Hi Matt,
Going off the Vin No. your BMW 135i should have the 8-Bolt Flywheel.
I would recommend our XClutch Twin Disc Organic Kit. The Kit comes complete with a Chromoly Flywheel, Pressure Plate and Flywheel Bolts and a Release Bearing to suit. We’ve previously supplied this Kit for several high horsepower vehicles previously and if the car is going to mainly see street use, this would be ideal.
The Kit retains a light and soft pedal effort and also gives a smooth but gradual pedal disengagement.
The Kit is currently available in stock.
I’ve also attached a photo of the Kit.
Please if I can help further, just let me know.
Regards,
Chris.

Pics they emailed me. Also, this is supposed to be rattle free.

@jyamona Still waiting on them to get back to me on price. I asked for a price quote with shipping to my house in PA earlier today, but I think maybe they were closed due to the time change / them being on the other side of the world. I also asked about the max torque the clutch will hold. Once they get back to me I'll update this thread.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna order this clutch, having a twin disc that drives like stock and doesn't rattle sounds perfect!!

1575.54$ for the Organic twin disc X-Clutch. I believe this includes shipping from Australia to my House in PA.

He did say that there could be very slight chatter / shudder at idle and low RPM, but said that users / reviewers have said that it’s much less than other twin disc setups.

Torque rated to 890 ft. Lbs.

I’m working on getting it ordered.

Final update before this fall when I install and try this clutch out:

X-Clutch was great to work with and they have already shipped my clutch kit out, less than 24 hours after I placed my order!
They also said I can feel free to call them if needed during the installation process and they would be more than happy to help answer questions.

Let us know how it feels when you drive it!

Wish he would have been more responsive and I would have gone that route too.

Above you said you placed an order, so you didn't end up doing this or am I missing some context?

I talked to him on the phone about it, he was going to call his CNC guy or whoever was cutting the flywheels and get back to me with a price. I never heard back. Texted and emailed several times. Forutately I never paid anything.

I ended up ordering a twin disc X-clutch from Australia.
