So I guess I’m finishing up my build V2.0...

Way back when:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=857028

I was FBO (pre-inlets) when I saw Terry list his FFTEC kit for sale. GC's weren’t around & I wasn’t crazy about the associated heat of a top mount, so I took the bottom mount ST plunge. I collected parts over a year or so, let the platform evolve & jumped in this winter. Goal is 7XX hp & the car has around 95k on it at this point. Project snowballed a little, but when I build something I want it dependable as possible & to look like it could have come from the factory that way. I’m too OCD to use the red/blue big block Chevy fittings. If there was a serviceable item that was more accessible during install, I updated it. I cleaned or degreased or painted pretty much anything along the way.

New stuff list:

-fftec bottom mount
-PTE 6266 bb Gen 2
-Tial WG
-AuBeast fittings
-new index 12 injectors
-new coils
-NGKs (97506)
-ADV o2 sensors
-3.5 Tmap & BMS harness
-Mac valve
-added OFH w/ outlets converted to 10an
-Setrab 34 row oil cooler
-new waterpump & thermostat
-new tensioner, pulleys & belt
-034 Motorsports motor mounts
-UUC trans mounts
-upgraded alum guibo
-BMS shift rod
-Spec 3+ clutch, oem TOB & bronze pivot
-Mfactory FW
-new rear main seal
-modified BMS OCC
-CSF radiator
-Fuel-it Stage 3 bucket
-Fuel-it 6an feed line tank to PI
-Fuel-it ethanol sensor
-walnut blasted
-Sharps manifold w/ PI
-Bosch EV 14 550cc injectors
-BMS PI controller
-oem 335d snorkel
-all new T-bolts
-all nylon covered stainless braided hoses (oil & boost ref)
-Aeroquip hose (vaccum)
-matching AN fittings

What’s left:

1. wiring connections @ DME
2. connect battery terminal
3. fuel/oil/coolant leak check
4. reinstall exhaust
5. Y the DP from single outlet to dual 2.5“
6. load software
7. START THE CAR
8. air leak check

Once I get to the tuning stage I’ll determine if/when I need an ADE intercooler. Also, I'm price shopping for M3 diff parts & pieces.

I’ll go thru all my pics & get them up as I get time this weekend hopefully.

When you say housing converted to -10, do you mean a blockoff/delete plate? Do you run a oil tstat?

Nope, I tapped the oem holes out of the bottom to 3/8" NPT & ran lines like factory to a Setrab cooler. The car didn't have a cooler so this is still an upgrade & will give me time to prioritize/figure out which thermostat setup I want.

Interesting to see how yours is done after looking at mine. Does your water pipe go below the compressor? And it looks like the water pump is going to be in the way of the compressor inlet? These kits are very tight, mine has clearances but not much.

1. Water pipe is the black circle @ the 8 oclock position.
2. Water pump sits in front of compressor filter. My plan was to have the filter where vac canisters were, but I would have choked the turbo w/ the piping that could fit. New plan is to make a "turn down" like tip to direct air out of the 335d snorkel toward the filter.

Other than that, the worst has been the middle manifold nuts; they were brutal.

Have you fitted the water pump and the filter though? Can't really tell on yours, but the water pump on mine comes very close to the silicone coupler for the intake pipe, in fact, it bumps up against the pump a bit.

Remember what I said when you were concerned how the snorkel duct fit lol... Yes, I left the subframe in...

I finished DME wiring last night. Leak checking & possibly loading software tonight.

Yes, I'm mega anal. I try to let things be though. Currently my obsession is converting my wg lines to AN.

Well I already bought all my fittings and that was largely based on shipping times(Next day/2 day). The biggest cost was the PTFE SS lines with 4 AN fittings installed. A couple AN banjo fittings, NPT to AN fittings, AN distribution block and lines and we'll see what happens.

My old exhaust cleaned up pretty well. It's ready to go back under; then finish mocking up the DP.

Your coolant reservoir line is so much cleaner than mine, I need to do that

Where are you routing this to? That is the flapper valve hose that normally goes to the rear inlet, right? I was trying to explore some kind of vacuum setup.

Challenge accepted... kit was originally setup for single 3" exhaust. My buddy Eric @ Killer Koncepts helped me out w/ some tig magic.
1. fftec downpipe
2. fftec dumptube
3. flange I drew up & had waterjet

Meet Frankenstein.
4. recycled 3" supra downpipe section
5. vibrant J bend & o2 bung

Metal finishing & wrapping tonight up next.

Correct. The turbo filter has an alum plate w/ a nipple/barb on the top. There is another preformed elbow just above water pump. I went to the parts store & asked to see their preformed heater hose selection in the back. Just measured different ones till I found diamters/bends I liked.

After it gets up & running I'll probably add a 2nd OCC in area behind the headlight. The 1st mount I made looked like garbage & I wasn't able to come up w/ one I liked so I moved on to other things. Will mess w/ it when I make the snorkel turndown.

Single 3" or 3.5"? I'm trying to convert to single 3.5"
