Is that actually what dodge calls their diesel? Too similar to ecoboost? Doesn't ford make a duratorq? What about duramax, isn't that too close? These naming schemes are bad.

The Duratorq never made it to the NA market it was a euro motor only. I think they did bring a 5 cylinder version to the US but still branded it under Powerstroke, probably because it sounded so close to the Chevy Duramax. Plus the US market was already sold on the power stroke name. They put that motor in the transit vans.

Ah okay. I came across the Duratorq name when I was researching the EcoBlue engine the Ford Ranger Raptor might be using.

The new small diesel was just announced for the fords. It’s a 2.0 twin turbo, it’s going into the ford ranger raptor. I personally have a 6.0 diesel right now it’s great, and maybe get 16-17 on the highway.

Got 13 mpg on the way to work this morning in the 7.3 Excursion lol.

Then again that's with 8in of snow on the ground and being liberal with the gas pedal :yum:

Unladen I got 29mpg on the highway with this thing. 18.5 while towing is incredible.

Just dawned on me. We have 3 cars and a lawn mower and don’t have anything burning gasoline!

Guess I’ll be buying one tomorrow lol
Motor is a monster. I had an HPFP failure under warranty. I really like the car. It needed suspension work (even with the M-sport) as it drove like a Cadillac. AC Schnitzer springs and H&R sway bars is the right setup, and fixed it. I'm running a Racechip because until recently the only way to tune was to pull the DME, but OBD-II port tuning is just becoming available.

The M57 (335d / X535d) guys are modding the heck out of their cars. But I think the N57 is at the next level and, with the prices coming down, we're going to see a lot happen with those too. I bought a '14 535d with 23k miles and am happy. The newer X5 35d loaded up are something else, but will break your wallet.

I'm getting a solid 19.5mpg with my e85 335is. Still not great, but cheaper to run than 91. I do wish I had a larger tank.

Mark my words, someday I'll swap an N57 into an e92 with a 6MT.
