30FF Code - zero boost

While on track, engine was running strong, but then after coming off throttle and going back to full, there was zero boost available.
30FF was thrown. I reset codes and drove around the paddock, but regardless of what I did, zero (and I mean zero) boost is created.
Charge pipes do not appear to have leaks, and I've not found any obvious vacuum leaks. Prior to this, I could hear the turbos spinning even by just revving, but that no longer occurs.

Turbochargers are stock. I could see one turbo going bad, but both at the same time seems incredibly unlikely. What should I check?

What are your modifications? How many miles? What's been replaced for maintenance? What's your vacuum at idle? Have you tested your boost solenoids? Have your vacuum lines been replaced? Do you have a log you can share? Should only have 1 charge pipe and 2 inlet pipes.

Yeah - started with new boost solenoids, and replacing all vacuum lines. No good. Found the problem. Rear turbo's turbine is basically missing.

I don't know how the impeller/compressor side looks yet, and I'm concerned about metal in the intake. Going to pull both turbos. Glad the problem has been found though!

Ummmm...so are you droppn the exhaust to fish it out or did it do grenade launch style out the back and hit a car ?

Pulled the turbos, and found that the rear turbo (failed one) was missing the nut on the compressor side. It was (amazingly) sitting in the rear inlet pipe. I was very surprised that the compressor wheel wasn't damaged. I didn't see any metal in the high pressure pipes leading to the intercooler.
The exhaust side is barely recognizable. It looks like the turbine took some of the housing along with it.

Pulled the turbos, and found that the rear turbo (failed one) was missing the nut on the compressor side. It was (amazingly) sitting in the rear inlet pipe. I was very surprised that the compressor wheel wasn't damaged. I didn't see any metal in the high pressure pipes leading to the intercooler.
The exhaust side is barely recognizable. It looks like the turbine took some of the housing along with it.

I wonder if the shaft violently siezed and caused the compressor nut to screw itself off🤷‍♂️ Does the shaft spin at all? Glad there's no metal shavings on the compressor side.

You mentioned on the other forum (before you discovered the missing turbine) that your two boost solenoids acted differently after you took them off. I wonder if one got stuck in the open position so the rear turbo was essentially stuck at 100% duty cycle?

That's what happens when not running a VTT cbc over that nut.

Yes, the compressor spins really easily, and (once I put the nut back on), the shaft spins easily. It looks like the common shaft between the compressor and turbine sheared off. I closed the throttle abruptly from 100%, and then went back to full; it built boost for a couple seconds, and then blew up.
I don't think the rear was running with the wastegate closed as that lead to a lot of boost being built? I didn't see any boost spikes.

Fwiw the same thing happened to a guy in SoCal on a dyno. Stock turbos. The shaft snapped in half. Also for some reason, the N54 likes to blow rear turbo. I have heard of more rear turbo failures on this platform than front for some reason.
