@Traf, do you have any other mods that contribute to fast spool aside from the inlet/outlets and exhaust? It's crazy that you are seeing that much torque at 3000 rpm on the 800's.

What inlets do you run?
What downpipes do you run?

Very impressive, and love the note of the Supersprint. 🤘
Hum i don't really know, biggest advantage for spool would be E85 i think?.
I'm running standard 3inch downpipes, front turbos has reloc inlet, rear turbo has standard silicone inlet and i am running a full 3inch outlet piping to the TB.

Great thread I’m currently waiting on my N53 head and hp800s I decided to do the supertech valve train and the high lift schrick cams too so I’m super excited and your build has me even more excited haha

Very nice setup ! You will probably not be disapointed.
I have the same setup on the way, with low lift instead of high lifts.
I'll update the thread once everything is in

Awesome who are you planning to use for tuning?

Gotcha Omar told me he recommends Chris from Motiv but any reputable tuner would be fine 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is the n53 head fit in the car right now? Currently rebuilding my car, got a bare 53 head from scavenger, not sure what mods is required to fit it to n54. Schrick cams+53 valves will work from what I read?

The head you want is the N53B30 and not an N53B25. The head needs to be reworked (water/oil passage to line up with N54 head gasket and certain head bolt hole sizes needed to increase in size) I recall using some custom washers at a few head bolt locations in order to use the N54 head bolts. On the rear of the head a freeze plug is needed. I did this work about 3 years ago so the details are as good as I can remember.

Or you port your N54 head properly, get the n53 exhaust valves modified into the head, modify your turbo exhaust housing gasket flanges and get "nearly" the same flow with way less work.

Have people done this?

I did.

we changed the exhaust port diameter from 33mm to 36mm and i cut away the concave part of the gasket flange.

Thanks for the info! What about other parts like valves, springs, and cams? The ideal picture for me currently is N53 head+N53 valves + supertech n54 springs + Schrick N54 cams. Not sure if this is the right combination, or any of them needs to be replaced by other candidates.

Speaking of N53 heads, this is the new engine i need to install.
Fully ported N53 head, with matching increased diameter tubular exhaust manifolds to go with Hydra turbos.
Shrick low lift cams, Supertech valvetrain.
Mahle pistons stock CR
ZRP I-beam rods
Fully closed deck
Pinned crank hub

Sorry for the shit pictures :D

Why not go with the high lift cams?

Which pinned crank hub?
