This is a bit disappointing but also not a huge surprise.

“Let me put it this way: I think the M40i is the perfect positioning regarding performance of that car,” he said at a media event in Spain. “It’s quite close to the M2, so we’re really happy with the overall concept of that car being an M40i. If you would go any higher, it would be very, very narrow in customer groups.”

So in fewer words, only a very small segment of the market would be interested in such a car. This is obviously a concern for them because they wouldn't' be selling very many and this makes it hard to sell. Lets hope the Supra comes out with an RZ or GZ trim that is equivalent to the Skyline revival with the GTR. So, $100k Z4 M or bust?

That’s okay. People like us normally aren’t satisfied leaving “nicely-equipped” stock cars as-is. :)

It's amazing if we even get this car in the US given paltry E89 Z4 sales. I can't see why they'd create an ///M version. In reality the few that want it will create it themselves.

What are you talking about? Much more fun to take the cottage industry alpha parts and do years of alpha and beta testing on "product" upgrades, and never quite get there :tearsofjoy:.

Honestly the answer is simple. Buy a Corvette.
