Why the BMW Z8 is so expensive

I had a friend that bought one new. Doug didn't talk about the aluminum used in the car. I always thought it was kinda neat (the M5 plant doesn't hurt), but I never warmed up to it. I'm actually a little surprised at the $200k+, but he is right, these cars never lost more than 10% of their value it seems.
