Wheel and Tire setup for Drag

I have been going to the Drag strip lately and want to know what a good Wheel and tire setup would be for my 2011 335is?

Well if I have to change my rear brakes I don't think I would since this is only a couple times a year I might be doing this.
So I should be looking for 17's and some racing slicks I am guessing?

That's what I would do. Throw a 17 on the back with a drag radial or something sticky and have fun. I'm not serious enough about it to go through the trouble of getting 15" wheels to fit.

Nto5r will be beast reg nt05 275 on 19s hold 500whp in second on street when warm and I know the vette guys say they hold up to 600whp at track and the r hold more . Et streets always good don't get I blocks they suck or if willing to switch get any r comp like r888 or re71 cause then you could have fun and play with them on street if want

I'm using 18" 313 wheels with Pilot Super Sport S4's. The more I think about it, they will probably hold once I do an LSD. It would be cheaper just to do that then get a new set of wheels and tires just for a few drag days.

Either get cheap set of 17s and throw any drag radial or like you said your on 18s so that's not horrible and a little slip is good with dct so you don't break pinion or axles

I managed to get 16's to fit on the rear of my 135i, will be getting them widened and 255/50R16 Toyo TQ put on. Had to grind the caliper a tad but they have so much extra casting I don't think it'll be a problem. Got about 1.5 mm or so between the wheel and caliper now. Toyo TQ when heat cycled apparently stick like an NT05R but last like an NT555R and handle well enough in the rain aside from standing water - so i've been told.

Get a set of OEM 17s and shove some Toyo TQ or Nitto NT555R on them. Theyll last a while, made for IRS cars and hook up great.

This is an extremely cheap option and will not cost anywhere near what an LSD will.

If you're willing to only run the tires at the strip and have a spare 2 wheels to mount them on, Mickey Thompson ET Street R's can be had in the size 285/40/18.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I looked at your mod list in the signature and you'd be fine with the nt555r or re71r and my above recommendation is overkill. I would advise against a hard launch anyway as you're likely to snap an axle with a clutch dump on the prepped surface of a drag strip.

I have DAW Stage3+ turbos being built right now and will be adding more stuff in the future so this is just looking at options for the future.

I think in the end, some cheap 17's and Toyo's or Nitto's might be the route to go. Just not sure if I want to get them before or after the LSD.

No reason to wait, these will improve your times as it sits right away.

LSD will improve traction, but not like a proper dedicated tire.

Could you shed some light on this 16" setup? I was looking at doing 17x8.5et50 Style 68M with 275/40R17 for a drag setup but 16" wheels would be even better.
