Had JB4 stand alone. Then tried MHD stock maps. Then JB4 + MHD Trebila BEF. Now on Wedge custom tune via MHD and car is nearly perfect.
MHD stock maps were great for a nearly stock car, but once I went to upgraded turbos the stock maps didn’t cut it.
Never could get the JB4 combo to feel right. While it performed okay at WOT it had drivability issues at low loads. The car had tons of power at WOT but I honestly didn’t enjoy driving it. I was always having to mess with some setting or another to get it to behave.
My various Wedge tunes for different fueling options are all great. Good power down low which makes the car feel quick around town, and I don’t feel like I’m giving up anything at WOT. It made my car fun to drive again while having crazy power on tap.
I’ve only used MHD but I have tried doing my own tunes and have flashed OFT and V8bait tunes using it. Nothing custom yet from a real tuner, waiting for intercooler and inlets/outlets first. Love everything about MHD, wish I would have gotten logging when I could though.
jb3 was my first setup on stock turbos, really woke the car up from stock.
Swapped to first gen rb's and swapped to cobb. Worst mistake should of upgraded the jb3->jb4 lol. Nothing wrong with the product, it functioned well. Even though now its a paper weight, and pretty much the equivalent of me buying a hd-player instead of a blu ray player back in the day.
I ran Cobb then jb4 which i hated the most. Jb4 was a nightmare in my car... The board caught fire once then after fixed my car would constantly throttle surge while driving and threw hpfp codes.. Removed the jb4 and car was mint. Installed mhd and its been fine for the last 30k.
