For those of you who have changed your rotors/pads, what did you choose/recommend? I have some slotted Centric rotors with Hawks pads but have been thinking about picking up a set of those black R1 Concepts rotors with Akibono pads instead.

If you have something not listed here tell me and I'll add it.

I have Cool Carbon pads and when I change rotors I'm thinking of going with RacingBrake because they're light and I think they may cool down faster than most other designs, but their prices have gone up to the point where a BBK might make more sense. I would add Z4 35is rotors to the list as they're a good option for people looking for a reasonably priced and high quality 2-piece front rotor.

Stoptech slotted rotors, Hawk HPS 5.0 pads. Great instant bite and consistency, slightly less than OEM dust. Rotors were a great deal from Turner Motorsport, and the pads were going for good prices on Amazon.

StopTech Slotted rotors and Ferodo DS2500 pads. Excellent pads but dusty and expensive.

Pagid RS29, amazing pad but very expensive and quite a bit of dust. Were good for daily driving and didn't glaze up too bad or squeal when DD'ing, very impressive seeing as they are a full on race pad.

Edit: As N54islyfe said, DS2500's are a great pad for aggressive street/ mild track use, a lot cheaper than RS29's too

I got the CoolCarbon brake pads along with Stoptech/Centric rotors. I'll probably be switching pads once they go out. CoolCarbon touted that they had less brake dust than OEM but I honestly think the amount might be worse with the CCarbons. I'm happy with the Centric rotors for the price, but if I paid the StopTech prices, I'd be pissed. But then again it could be the shitty CCarbons. I'll find out once I replace these pads and resurface my rotors

UPDATE: Installed ECS two-piece drilled and slotted for their lighter weight over stock, 2 lbs lighter than Z4 35is front rotors. New brake pads: Cool Carbon (S/TPlus on front)

I have akebono and slotted rotors. If I did it again I would go with a quality blank rotor and akebono pads. The pads have less bite compared to stock pads but nothing I even notice now. Plenty of stopping power and next to no dust.
