After installing the VTTO Turbo Kit with their own Silicone hoses (Purchased seperately but is actually for this application) I’ve realized that there is a great risk of contact of the front turbine’s hose to the exhaust manifold. (see pictures) I was concerned about the possible damage to the hose over prolonged use. So I’ve created this solution which also eases the problem of exhaust manifold heating the silicone hose that comes out of compressor housing.

This way I’ve managed to ease up the load on the intercooler as well. First I prepared the back plate and after ensuring proper fitment I’ve used thermal isolation material on both sides just to be sure.
While solving my concern, I’ve also addressed the issue of better cold air channeling to the air filters by using a similar plate design, roughly isolating the air filters from the engine bay’s heat. Note that the bonnet vents at far right side is reversed for better use of this new DIY cold air box. (see pictures)

Overall, I managed to drop the intake air tempratures while ensuring a safer solution for the silicone hose. This drop in the IAT allowed me to gain a little more than 10bhp and far better throttle response over prolonged use on trackdays. Keeping the exhaust housing of the turbines (hot side) at relatively consistent hot tempratures (they are isolated together with the exhaust manifold) also gave me the chance of much better spool.

This would be worth relocating my coolant reservoir for. Time to make one that fully seals with the hood.

First off we apologize you had some issues installing a VTT product. As for the contact, there is only risk of contact because you did not trim the front connection per the instructions that come with the charge pipe. When properly trimmed, and installed the charge pipe has a ton of room. We leave the front connection slightly long as we have experienced the different N54 platforms can fit slightly different. This allows you to custom tailor you fot per your vehicle, but the charge is not to be left full length, it will almost certainly make contact with no only the manifold, but also the coolant bottle if this is done.

If you mean this, (see attached) then I believe this is quite misleading as there some obvious typos and it mentions coolant bootles etc. Also no where it mentions that the chargepipe has a chance to touch manifold. Reading your GC manual as well, I believe you should mention this possiblty on the Turbo's installation manual.

But don't worry Tony. I am not going to send you an invoice for consultancy fee. Just a friendly reminder :)

I have vtt charge pipe silicone and pr inlets my installer said my inlets are sitting on the charge pipe and that's why the filters sit a little uneven the one closer to firewall is up a little does that mean he didn't trim the pipe
