So my 335is DCT bottom and side gaskets are leaking. Since I want to deal with this once, I want to upgrade the gaskets with Viton gaskets and the pan to a metal one in the hopes that this will help. I can’t seem to find much info in the forums but I know SSP, Gintani, Mojo, and Slon make billet aluminum pans. I know that SSP also makes Viton seals.

Does anyone have any experience, installed pictures, or other recommendations? I also want to know which pans prevent the bottom cover from being reinstalled. I would like to retain mine if possible. Thanks!

There is a cast aluminium pan made by someone somewhere that was around half the price of the billet one.

It was in the DCT Facebook group but I’ve since left so can’t get to it.

THANKS! I’ll post that question in the DCT group I’m in and I’ll post answers here. I know I can’t be the only one that wants to fix leaks haha.

This one? I wish there were provisions for an external cooler, I'd be sold. Doesn't look like there is even any space for that.

Can the SSP seal be used with other pans?

It would seem so, I think it is identical in shape and size to the original gasket, only the material is different. But it should be noted that some aftermarket oil pans use sealant instead of a gasket.

The viton dct oil pan gasket can be also found cheaper for 99$ on ebay. I think SSP is still the only manufacturer for the viton mechatronic cover gasket.

Also it would seem that the O-ring for the wiring harness can be a source of leak, so it could be wise to replace it too if the transmission is taken out.

Any aluminium pan can have bungs welded or tapped in. A sump pump and a thermal switch and relay, some lines and a cooler... job done. The tranny already has oil lines though, why not just tap a cooler into those ? Much easier than getting a pump and wiring etc. if it’s good enough for M3s then I personally wouldn’t complicate it more than that.

Also of all the pans, as far as I remember the slonik one was the only one with a revised pickup to take advantage of the extra volume. The others may have revised their offering since I saw them

Yes if needed, but I wouldn't tap the pan for cooling. There's an auxiliary cooler IIRC, I would upgrade that one first.
The dct uses the same heat exchanger cooler as the auto I beleive. I've already replaced this with a small core on the driver fender but it is insufficient. I'm upgrading that core to a slightly larger one that still allows brake ducts to remain, but it is unclear if it would be able to handle the load on its own in AZ. If not I was looking at my options in terms of adding a second circuit so your pan interested me. Would bms be able to add those provisions for a small fee or would I need to do this myself?

I take it youre getting limp modes on track days and such ?

My trans will over heat just parked. The ppkv2 core is not large enough to shed enough heat without airflow. Even heard larger cores have this problem while parked in az heat.

I’m not seeing issues with mine on even the hottest days here. Admittedly not up to the temps in Arizona but still well over 100f some days with no sign of trouble. I’m also not stressing the thing nearly as much as you would be as i dont have a single.

What cooler do you have? Divorcing the trans cooling from the coolant circuit takes quite a bit of surface area to do so at a stand still and no fans.
