What's everyone running for a trans cooler setup? Are you bypassing the stock cooler and running an air to air cooler? Fan/temp switch, etc?

I bought some of the ppkv2 pieces. This includes the oem brackets and core. I grabbed a tstat from improved racing and I'll be getting an AN fitting welded onto the oem core. That trans "cooler" which is actually a heater, is being bypassed entirely. This way it will all fit nicely including ducts from the 335is.
Oh ok. So bypass the stock heat exchanger completely and use a air to air cooler (15 row) with a 180* thermostat. Might even throw a temp switch with a fan on there.

No, it will be a normal fluid cooler core, I'm cooling trans fluid with it not air(or water) in this case. And I think i did a 165* tstat.
Its a HUGE upgrade. And as an update, this setup keeps my trans nice and cool, even on these 98* days (seen a max temp of 172*)

I've read so much about pressure drop (theory) when running a trans cooler.. I guess no one has actually felt the negative affects of it. I plan to retrofit a trans oil cooler to go along with my PD built trans, along with an engine oil cooler here shortly.
For my trans cooler, I have the fittings from Omar.. I need a core (15row), 165 degree tstat and appropriate lines. am I missing anything?

Cool good to know. I'll do that once I get MHD installed.
